Position Summary:


The Product Manager position at KBI Biopharma is a strategic and data-driven position that works both upstream and downstream within the various business portfolios and product/service offerings to grow the global market position of KBI Biopharma. This role will have marketing, product, portfolio strategy, and revenue growth responsibilities. They will be responsible for developing go-to-market strategies, strategic product and pricing decisions, articulating the product offering, crafting innovative competitive messaging, and leading product launch efforts.

The successful individual leads planning, management, deployment, and promotion of compelling customer focused content and marketing campaigns that drives new customer acquisition and deepens customers engagement through market insights, voice of customer, market segmentation, and the development of customer profiles/ that include Biopharma and Life Science in all regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned portfolios to define the strategies that ensure portfolio growth goals are achieved through various marketing, product development, and other commercial initiatives
  • Analyze market, customer and competitive conditions, and identify emerging scientific trends and technologies for the purpose of creating a product vision that is differentiated and delivers unique value based on customer demands
  • Identify appropriate market opportunities governed by the market dynamics in the region, competitive landscape, solution/service needs, sales approach
  • Partner with the Product Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing Managers and SDR team to develop go-to-market strategies, consistent with branding, positioning and messaging relating to KBI Biopharma and its products & services globally
  • Ensure close alignment and open communication with R&D Scientific Leaders, Business Development, Site Leaders, and Corporate Development to position the services and solutions of the assigned portfolio
  • Use strategic and competitive intelligence to inform product iterations, new product development, messaging, and competitive positioning strategies
  • Build and execute a product roadmap based on strategic decisions and market conditions
  • Monitor and evaluate the competitive landscape
  • Define product vision based on providing unique, differentiated value to customers
  • Ensure ongoing engagement with target customer base through voice of customer activities
  • Work with the wider marketing team to develop annual marketing plans at both a platform/portfolio and regional levels, and maintain and execute a marketing calendar of campaigns
  • Ensure sales teams are trained and can articulate the value propositions of established and new services within the assigned portfolio
  • Use market insight to develop content and customer engagement strategies through digital and traditional communication channels
  • Monitor the global and regional market to identify competitive gaps and potential technology/product/service licensing opportunities
  • Maintain scientific/technical knowledge of the assigned portfolio and its impact on the market
  • Deliver go-to-market and (capability) innovation strategies for the KBI Biopharma global portfolio, and oversee the tactical initiatives required to achieve them, including but not limited to advertising, communication, channel strategy, and sales training and support.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Lead the successful introduction of new products and solutions in the global market, working closely across multiple functions, including the Global Marketing Team, Research and Development, Business Development, and Quality and Regulatory
  • Influence conference / congress strategy by deeply understanding conference audiences and build in opportunities within conference activity to elevate KBI Biopharma’s involvement
  • Provide support to the business development team by implementing marketing programs to drive pre-funnel and ‘top of funnel’ lead generation and ‘awareness’ activities (to build our brand, gain market share, and help meet portfolio revenue goals). Ultimate responsibility is around generating marketing qualified leads. Overarching goal is to drive influenced revenue.
  • Manage strategic marketing budget and optimize the channel mix on campaigns to achieve a high ROI (Return on Investment), meanwhile appreciating key organizational initiatives

Requirements: 

  • BS in Science related field or Marketing, MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of marketing or commercial experience in the life science/biotech industry
  • Experience in product marketing for large life science portfolios
  • Experience supporting a cGMP environment preferred
  • Language proficiency and fluency in English is required
  • Ability to understand complex topics, extract the key elements, and synthesize the information for external consumption  

Skill Requirements: 

  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to internal senior management and garner support and buy-in for initiatives and plans.  
  • Ability to listen empathetically, understand information presented by people with different communication styles and different points of view, and resolve disputes. 
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general reference periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or government regulations.  
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work effectively by collaborating with others to achieve goals and objectives. 
  • Ability to interpret technical information and demonstrate judgment, planning and initiative to work independently toward goals. May also involve giving guidance on complex issues to others. 
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Comfortable using computers, including an advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, e-mail, and internet. 
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skills. 
  • Ability to multitask with a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy. 
  • Willing and able to work with oversight by KBI Legal.  
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively and solve scientific problems with little to no supervision. 
  • Ability to find, read, and understand relevant scientific literature. 
  • Willingness and ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and find solutions to meet timelines. 
  • Ability to work across teams by being a flexible team player. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

Salary Range:

Manager: $118,000 - $162,280

Salary range provided per current averages and expectations. The salary and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
