Global Neurology Senior Marketing Manager, Rare Disease

UPLIZNA (inebilizumab) is a monoclonal antibody that targets the CD19 cell surface marker on B-cells. UPLIZNA is currently indicated for the treatment of Neuromyelitis Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD) and is in development for other autoimmune diseases, including Generalized Myasthenia Gravis (gMG) and IgG4-Related Disease. Both NMOSD and gMG are chronic autoimmune diseases that are treated by neurologists. The global neurology senior marketing manager will have responsibilities across both neurology indications, with a focus on driving the gMG launch. This role will impart cross-functional leadership, strong teamwork and communication skills, a passion for patients, and a commitment to excellence in carry-through.
In this vital role The Global Marketing Neurology Senior Manager will be a critical member of the UPLIZNA global marketing team, focusing primarily on leading the launch of the gMG indication. This individual will collaborate with the reference market, members of the brand working group (BWG) and cross-functional business partners to drive a successful global launch of UPLIZNA in gMG and support global NMOSD needs.
The Global Senior Marketing Manager will report to the Global Neurology Marketing Director and drive core elements of the brand strategy and launch execution. Specifically, this role will focus on
Developing global brand assets, including core communication platform, brand messaging and campaign, brand plan Synthesizing market insights and clinical considerations to inform program strategy Leading global forecasts and providing perspective on regional and key country forecasts Driving launch planning with lead markets Working with key opinion leaders in gMG to gain insights that will drive the go to market strategy in key countries.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead development of global brand positioning, messaging, campaign, brand plan and other core brand assets in partnership with agency, reference market and cross-functional team
Partner with competitive intelligence and the data/analytics team to execute on primary and secondary research needed to deliver on brand priorities
Oversee semi-annual forecasting process; provide key inputs and strategic guidance
Drive launch readiness reviews preparation and discussion with key markets
Work with Legal and Regulatory teams to deliver materials in accordance with Amgen standards and principles
Establish relationships with all partners and effectively manage agency; hold partners accountable for high quality work, budget execution, and timelines
Support ad hoc strategic initiatives pertaining to the brand with evolving needs and changing market dynamics
Demonstrate a sense of shared ownership of overall UPLIZNA brand and rare disease business unit performance
Live and role model the Amgen Values and contribute to a welcoming, engaging, and fun environment of industry-leading performance within the Global Marketing Team and cross-functional partners

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization
Or
Master’s degree and 4 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization
Or
Associate’s Degree and 10 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or other advanced degree in marketing, healthcare management, or related area
Marketing Launch experience
Innovative problem solver in highly ambiguous environments
Ability to drive influence across medical, development, access, regulatory and operations partners to set direction and align work efforts
Strong grasp of marketing strategy, market research, segmentation, brand positioning, and tactical plan development
Experienced with engaging with and gaining insights from key opinion leaders and other members of the healthcare community
Demonstrated strength in dictating analytics needs and synthesizing insights into strategy
Experience managing advertising agencies to deliver impactful messages and creatives
Bias for action and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to exercise strong judgment and live up to the highest ethical standards
Excellent communication skills and self-awareness of leadership style
Strong organizational skills - to set targets, track to milestones and complete projects

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.

Salary Range
