Job description

As part of SCI’s Sport and Society team, the Youth Sport Research and Innovation team leverages research, data and proof points to break barriers in youth sport. The team also leads the building and creation of experience and tools that support the global Future of Youth Sport in alignment with the rest of NIKE Inc. Reporting to the Director and working closely with the Analyst and across SCI, the Lead will support colleagues and partners to measure NIKE’s reach and impact, analyze and help identify solutions to barriers, and collaborate extensively to build the Future of Youth Sport. The ideal candidate is passionate about NIKE’s purpose priorities and research and learning.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead, Youth Sport Research and Innovation based at NIKE’s WHQ in Beaverton, Oregon. The Lead will be an excellent collaborator with experience driving cross-functional results. The Lead will have a background in research, preferably sport and/or youth development research, and experience leading collaborative learning processes. They should have excellent and proven written and verbal communication skills. They should have the ability to navigate complex internal and external relationships, demonstrate sound judgment, and problem solve in ambiguous situations.

  • The ideal candidate brings the following skills and qualifications:

  • Knowledge of sport research/research/statistics or related fields

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training

  • Minimum of 6 years directly relevant work experience.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Airtable, and Keynote

You will support the application of the SCI impact measurement framework across internal and external teams and partners, ensuring teams are trained and supported. You will leverage your research background to analyze current research and trends, identify gaps and opportunities, socialize learning, and invest in Learning Grants. You will develop a centralized knowledge base and ensure maintenance in collaboration with the Analyst on the team.

  • Support application of the measurement framework across SCI and business partners, including training and upskilling

  • Manage tool updates and timely distribution across SCI

  • Analyze, identify, and support socialization of barriers as well as upcoming trends in youth sport

  • Support application and socialization of Youth Sport Innovation and Research learnings across Social and Community Impact through geographies, cities. 

  • Lead the Learning Grants strategy integration and socialization

  • Lead regular learning analysis and research review and recommend opportunities for learning 

  • Develop and ensure ongoing quality of Centralized Knowledge Base 

  • Support innovation pathway and collaboration with Nike Sports Research Lab (NSRL)

  • Collaborate across Sport & Society, specifically the Data team, and broader Social & Community Impact team

  • Other projects as needed
