Where you’ll work:

All our roles are hub based (Bristol, Glasgow or London), providing a dedicated space for collaboration, connection and teamwork. You’ll also have the flexibility to work from home. You'll need to be comfortable coming into your local hub once a week so we're looking for individuals based from either Bristol, Glasgow or London, rather than remote.

You’ll be working in the People Engagement team. We’re responsible for designing and delivering a proactive, progressive engagement strategy to help us become the leading place to work for people who want to change the world.

This role in a nutshell:
We’re looking for a strong senior internal communications leader to join our Engagement team for 12 months maternity cover for one of our Senior People Engagement & Internal Comms Managers. You’ll have the opportunity to partner our leadership team to shape business narratives, strategies and transformation communications, helping them drive forward their plans and make a difference for our people and customers.
In this role, we’ll need someone who leads change, reputational or risk communications, bringing together internal, external and business stakeholders to be completely aligned on our approach. You’ll play a huge part in our People Engagement strategy, helping our people understand the part they play in our strategy. You’ll work closely with our People Partners, Strategic Partners and Executive Assistants to help bring our business strategies to life. You’ll report directly into the Head of People Engagement as part of both the People Engagement and People Experience Leadership teams.
Your key outcomes will be:
- In Engagement Business Partnering, our mission is to support and advise our senior leaders at OVO to engage, inform and inspire their people at every turn so you’ll have to have strong experience in this space.
- Owning and leading the Communication Business Partnering model across the company, working with partners across the team to orchestrate key activity.
- Landing and embedding our strategy across the company, helping our people understand what it means for them.
- Crisis management - reacting and responding to any internal or external communications needed to help our people.
- Showing the difference your communications are making across key metrics.
You’ll be successful in this role if you…
- Have a wealth of experience in Internal Communications and People Engagement.
- Have direct experience of, and comfort working with senior leaders. Highly skilled in advising senior business leaders and building trust quickly.
- Have experience and a proven track record of dealing with significant periods of change and shaping the internal narrative around this.
- Are comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get stuck in with delivery, i.e. engagement events.
- Be a people person and a great teammate with low ego and high EQ – an energetic, positive and a welcome addition to every room.
- Be highly organised, advising and influencing multiple stakeholders, while juggling multiple priorities, to create great people experiences
- Be an exemplary teammate, at their best when working within a collective to deliver a shared vision. Capable of building relationships fast and inspiring confidence in all around them.
- Enjoy working at pace - at OVO the world moves quickly to make sure we deliver for our people and customers as quickly as we can.

We’ll pay you between £65,000 and £80,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!

You’ll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.
