Job description

Company Description

Our client is a Singapore-based eSIM service provider that allows users to activate mobile plans without the need for a physical SIM card. The platform offers flexible, global mobile data and voice plans for travelers, providing an easy way to stay connected internationally with minimal hassle and no roaming charges.

Key Responsibilities

1. Test Execution & Bug Identification:

  • Manual Testing: Conduct thorough manual testing of software applications to identify issues, including functional, usability, regression, and integration bugs.
  • Test Coverage: Ensure comprehensive coverage of test cases, from basic functionality to complex user scenarios, covering various browsers, devices, and environments.
  • Exploratory Testing: Perform exploratory testing to uncover bugs that may not be captured in predefined test cases, including edge cases and user experience issues.

2. Bug Reporting & Documentation:

  • Bug Logging: Accurately log defects in bug tracking systems, including:
    • Clear Steps to Reproduce: Provide precise, reproducible steps to help developers recreate the bug.
    • Detailed Environment Information: Include details such as the OS, browser version, application version, and device used during testing.
    • Expected vs. Actual Results: Document the discrepancy between expected behavior and actual results to ensure clarity in the defect.
    • Screenshots/Logs: Attach relevant screenshots, screen recordings, or logs to support the reported bug and provide clear evidence.
  • Severity & Priority Classification: Assess the severity and priority of defects to ensure critical issues are addressed promptly. Categorize bugs based on their impact on functionality and user experience (e.g., blocker, major, minor).
  • Defect Clarity: Ensure all defects are clearly described, with enough information for developers to understand the issue without additional clarification.

3. Bug Triage & Collaboration:

  • Bug Triage Participation: Participate in bug triage meetings to discuss the severity, impact, and priority of defects with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Cross-Team Communication: Work closely with developers to clarify bug details, reproduction steps, and potential fixes. Facilitate the quick resolution of critical bugs.
  • Defect Follow-Up: Continuously monitor and follow up on open defects, ensuring timely updates are provided regarding bug status and resolution.

4. Regression & Retesting:

  • Bug Verification: After fixes are applied, re-test the affected areas to verify that the issue has been resolved and no new issues have been introduced.
  • Regression Testing: Execute regression tests to ensure that new features or bug fixes do not negatively affect the functionality of existing features.
  • Test Case Update: Update and create new test cases based on the resolved issues and changes in product functionality.

5. Quality Metrics & Reporting:

  • Defect Metrics: Track defect trends and produce regular reports to assess the overall health of the product and track bug resolution timelines.
  • Test Execution Reports: Provide detailed reports on testing progress, including pass/fail rates, test coverage, defect density, and overall product quality.
  • Release Readiness: Work with the release management team to ensure all critical defects are resolved before product releases.

6. Process Improvement & Continuous Learning:

  • Process Optimization: Suggest improvements in the bug reporting and testing processes to enhance efficiency and defect detection.
  • Skill Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest QA tools, bug tracking techniques, and industry best practices to enhance personal expertise and the overall quality assurance process.
  • Mentorship: Support and guide peers in effective bug reporting and testing practices.
