Job description

About Us:

All Voting is Local is a multistate, nonpartisan organization that fights against state and local voting policies that silence voters of color and other historically marginalized communities – not just in election years, but every year. We are on the ground in eight states (Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin) building bridges with election officials who want to expand access to the ballot – and pushing back on those who don’t. We work with partners to advance fair, inclusive rules on voter registration, to remove barriers that make it more difficult for people to vote, and to ensure every vote counts.

Position Summary:

The Digital Communications Manager oversees and develops persuasive and engaging content, helping to reinforce a strong brand voice and nurture relationships with the community. Additionally, the individual will manage the community to increase engagement, amplify our brands, and maintain community guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, create, and execute an impactful digital strategy—both proactive and reactive—on all AVL social media platforms, website, and email and text subscriber lists.
  • Actively find opportunities to grow All Voting’s digital footprint and social media engagement.
  • Manage content development and deployment of newsletters and emails to segmented audiences.
  • Monitor social media trends and manage community engagement on all AVL social media platforms.
  • Review and regularly update All Voting’s website content.
  • Place, monitor, and report on digital advertising campaigns.
  • Utilize the organization’s CRM for various digital deployments and metrics-tracking.
  • Set up, promote, and execute virtual events.
  • Work closely with the communications team to ensure content and program are aligned with the campaign’s communications, and policy objectives while supporting the organization’s larger goals
  • Work with various digital and creative vendors and freelancers to optimize content for engagement.
  • Implement All Voting’s digital messaging and ensure consistency and tone on all platforms.
  • Use applicable tools to analyze and optimize digital metrics to achieve successful campaigns. Regularly report metrics and work to fine-tune the strategy.
  • Identify digital communications opportunities to amplify the organization’s mission and initiatives, while also maintaining a successful and proactive digital strategy.
  • Project manage various digital cross-state initiatives pertaining to the organization’s mission.
  • Special projects, as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 5 -7 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or any related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and proficiency with digital strategy programs, and tools including social media schedulers such as Sprout Social, HootSuite, TweetDeck, etc.; website CMS platforms such as WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and CRM software such as EveryAction, or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines to successful completion, and work in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
  • Interest in and general knowledge of voting rights issues or elections, programs, and constituencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with non-profits
  • Experience in developing relationships with digital content creators
  • Experience working on issues of election protection, voting rights, and/or democracy protection.
