We are looking for a Manager, Business Planning & Capital Management to play a pivotal role within the Business Operations team. This position leads ENMAX Power Corporation’s (EPC) operational planning processes and drives comprehensive business analytics to support key initiatives. Additionally, the successful candidate will ensure EPC’s capital portfolio is optimized, maximizing value while aligning with strategic objectives.
Major Responsibilities:
Lead the business review, and implementation of both operating and capital plans and budgets across ENMAX Power. Ensure these align with and support the delivery of business, strategic and regulatory objectives
Lead the development of ENMAX Power capital planning processes and tools and coordinate the preparation of business planning documents and presentations
Coordinate all management capital reporting and forecasting processes across all lines of business within EP and provide regular consolidated management reporting that reconciles with financial systems and facilitates management discussion and decision-making
Responsible for ENMAX Power’s capital performance reporting and forecasting processes which enable effective strategic decision making and performance management
Ensure systems and processes are in place to optimize timing and spend of capital dollars to achieve maximum returns for EPC
Identify, research and analysis of emerging issues in both the internal and external business environments that could impact achievement of EP’s objectives and plans
Coordinate the preparation and analysis of a comprehensive balanced scorecard for operational performance reporting and facilitate regular rigorous reviews with the EP leadership team
Represent ENMAX Power as a key advisor and stakeholder in multiple ENMAX special projects and related initiatives
Lead a multi-disciplinary group of business analysts, specialists, and (indirectly) management/director level professionals to successfully develop, and justify ENMAX Power’s capital business cases
Work with corporate departments to ensure they understand the specific requirements or constraints inherent within a regulated business with respect to cost structure and allocations
Maximize the development, performance and engagement of staff while aligning efforts with departmental and corporate goals and objectives
Education Required:
University degree specializing in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Business or equivalent
Eight (8) years of related experience with at least 2 years in an electric utility
Demonstrated strong leadership skills
MBA and/or relevant Professional designation (e.g. CPA) considered an asset
Qualifications & Experience:
Knowledge of ENMAX corporate planning processes
Experience with regulated electricity environment in Alberta
Knowledge of electricity transmission and distribution business, including proficiency in understanding capital planning and projects
Competencies:
Demonstrated ability to lead and support others cross-functionally, communicate effectively, anticipate, and resolve problems, and challenge status quo
Influencing and relationship building skills when dealing with stakeholders at all levels in the organization
Strong management and leadership background
High level of business acumen
Analytical and technical (accounting and regulatory) skills

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
