Position Title: SAP Basis Delivery Lead/Consultant
Location: Remote/On-site (as required by the project)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and leadership in a complex mission-critical SAP environment.
  • Act as primary contact for customers for any operational and technical topics, including SAP technical consulting
  • Lead and execute SAP projects and complex changes, such as new implementations, migrations, upgrades, conversions,
  • maintenance activities. Work with other domains to establish implementation plans for SAP changes, projects, backup
  • and recovery.
  • Provide solution options and participate in high availability designs (HA/DR).
  • Ensure supported components are maintained, optimized and used effectively.
  • Manage escalations of critical incidents (with root-cause in technical area).
  • Define and setup SAP and DB monitoring based on standards in order to meet SLA’s.
  • Oversee ITIL processes (incident, change, release and problem management...).
  • Handle Change Requests, acting as Change Manager, in process & in tools.
  • Participate in regular account review sessions with the customer and Account Service Team.
  • Execute Project management for technical tasks / technical SAP project management.
  • Identify automation opportunities and drive their implementations.
  • Forecast and raise technology requirements based on technical and clients needs.
  • Consult on the architecture and design of hardware and software within the client's environment.
  • Ensure that technical system documentation is up to date (CMDB, Operational procedures).
  • Provide internal SAP technical training for lower-level teams.

Knowledge and Skills required:

Technical skills:

  • 5+ years of related SAP Basis administration experience with SAP products (SAP ECC/ERP, etc.)
  • Administration knowledge of DBMS, such as HANA, DB2, Oracle, Sybase ASE, MaxDB, MSSQL
  • Experience with SAP and DB technical daily operations, SAP and DB life-cycle management
  • Experience with SAP implementation / migration projects from SAP Basis perspective
  • Experience in managing SAP / DB environment changes and upgrades
  • Experience in Performance Tuning and Monitoring
  • Advanced OS administration skills (Linux, Unix, Windows)
  • Basic understanding of computer network concepts (WAN/LAN, TCP/IP, DNS...)

Soft skills:

  • Fluent English (min. B2) spoken and written
  • Ability to professionally handle client requests, both on time and thoroughly
  • Proactiveness: identify opportunities for improvements that positively impact operations and customer experience
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work independently and/or in the team, ability to lead the others
  • Ability to step into running projects and resolve issues
  • Ability to communicate complex situations to technical as well as non-technical clients

Nice to have:

  • SAP Basis (Netweaver) Certified, HANA (or other DB) certified
  • Experience with S/4HANA, BW4/HANA
  • Experience with Solution Manager, FRUN administration
  • Experienced in system migrations, both homogeneous and heterogeneous, or SAP’s OS/DB migration certification
  • Shell scripting experience
