As the Director of Growth Division Operations, your role is central to shaping and driving the strategies and initiatives across the organization including: Corporate Affairs, Public Relations, Marketing and Branding, Business Development, and Partnership teams . Your responsibilities encompass managing and optimizing the overall functioning of the Growth Division, which includes careful coordination of resources, technology, and personnel. You play a critical role in identifying and addressing operational bottlenecks, ensuring effective capacity management, and making strategic decisions about resource allocation. Your expertise will be instrumental in fostering synergies among different marketing initiatives, aligning them with the company's overarching business goals.
In this capacity, your leadership is not only about managing internal operations but also about bridging connections within the Growth Division and other IOG departments, shared services, and external ventures, including spinouts and early-stage projects. You will be pivotal in maintaining clear and consistent communication about the progress and status of various marketing projects, ensuring departmental activities are transparent both within the team and across the wider organization. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, you'll drive the development and implementation of key marketing strategies, guiding the team through the intricacies of the PI planning process and ensuring the marketing efforts are aligned with the company's strategic objectives. Your role also includes providing direct oversight and guidance to specialized teams, such as content creation, as required based on changes in organizational structure.
Key Responsibilities
Strategically Align and Communicate:
- Ensure all departments in the Growth Division and workstreams are prioritized, aligned and transparent, both within the team and visible across the organization.
- Act as the lesion between Growth Division leadership and IOG departments.
Champion Change and Innovation:
- Act as a pivotal change agent, adeptly implementing business transformation initiatives. Guide the cross-functional teams in adapting to new processes and tools, ensuring strategic alignment and facilitating integration to bolster overall organizational effectiveness.
- Have a finger on the pulse of new trends, platforms and best practices.
- Advise teams on latest trends and best practices; help optimize outputs accordingly.
Optimize Internal Operations:
- Oversee and refine internal operations within the Growth Division, targeting tooling enhancements, bottleneck reduction, and optimizing capacity management and resource utilization.
- Provide strategic oversight and guidance to the larger team continuing to push to advance innovation and adoption through production and execution.
- Maintain budgets and project tracking (in coordination with project managers and project owners).
- Responsible for setting agendas for team calls, integration with internal partners, organizing and executing team and cross-company meetings.
Collaborate for Operational Excellence:
- Forge productive collaborations with shared services, tribes, spin-outs, and the transformation team to develop operations and processes that resonate with business objectives.
Support Spinouts and Early Ventures:
- Spearhead the Growth Divisions involvement in supporting spinouts and early ventures, offering crucial early-stage guidance. This includes defining their strategic needs, resourcing requirements and approaches, and ensuring their initiatives align with broader organizational objectives and ways of working.
Shape Initiative Strategies:
- Inject strategic insights into initiatives from spin-outs or the IOG core, influencing both their strategic direction and execution approach.
Drive PI Planning Process:
- Lead the division's engagement in the PI planning process, steering its development to amplify business value.
Partner with Leadership:
- Align closely with the SVP of Marketing and Communications as well as the Chief Growth Officer, and other Growth Division leaders in orchestrating key initiatives and addressing strategic issues in unison.
- Actively engage and foster a positive relationship with all members of the Growth Division’s leadership team as well as cross-functional IOG leadership from Legal, HR, Finance, Strategy Office, etc.
Enhance Project Management:
- Continuously evolve project management methodologies to align with changing business landscapes.
Manage Budgets Responsibly:
- Exercise diligent financial stewardship, optimizing budget allocation and maintaining fiscal transparency.
- Maintain project budgets and billing tracking (in coordination with project managers and project owners).
Vendor Management:
- Strategically engage and integrate external vendors to align with business objectives.
- Maintain 1:1 relationships and an active list of freelance resources needed to support division functions.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Mentor and cultivate your team, nurturing a culture of growth, innovation, and excellence.
- Actively identify and mentor future senior leaders within the Growth Division, fostering a robust leadership pipeline. Develop tailored growth plans for high-potential team members within your direct function, while also providing support to other Heads of functions in the department to set and implement growth plans, equipping their team members with the skills and opportunities needed to assume leadership roles and drive divisional success.
- Champion a true center of excellence competency. This will include providing strategy guidance, platform playbooks, resources, and training within Marcomms and outside to various business groups with the goal to foster innovation but also improve consistency and standardization.
- Plan and execute proactive integration and training sessions.
Set and Monitor Departmental Objectives:
- Establish clear, measurable objectives for the delivery team, aligning with broader organizational goals.
- Build and maintain a learning agenda and roadmap for innovation for the department.

Education / Experience
- Web3 and Blockchain expertise: understanding of Web3 and blockchain technologies, coupled with knowledge of the competitive landscape, to inform and guide marketing strategies.
- 10 + years experience in marketing operations and creative production, with a proven track record in leadership or senior roles, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple teams, influence strategic initiatives, and drive organizational outcomes 8-10 years’ experience in marketing operations and creative production.
- Comfortable working in large teams with multiple stakeholders and project leads.
- Proficient in managing tight deadlines and complex requirements with exceptional problem-solving skills, ensuring timely and effective solutions in high-pressure situations
- Working knowledge of project management tools including: Jira, Confluence, Google Docs, Slack, etc.
