Job description

We are looking for an IT Specialist II who is passionate about leveraging their technical and problem-solving skills to provide outstanding customer service within a collaborative IT environment.

As an IT Specialist II at DigitalOcean, you will join our collaborative IT team that's passionate about delivering a seamless technology experience for our colleagues. You'll play a key role in ensuring our employees have the tools and support they need to thrive. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to IT projects, knowledge share, and ongoing skill building.

What You’ll Do:
  • Be a Tech Hero: Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of tech challenges, from desktop glitches to network hiccups, and escalated technical requests. You'll be the go-to person for your fellow Sharks!
  • Champion a Positive Tech Experience: Deliver exceptional technical support with empathy and patience, ensuring every interaction leaves colleagues feeling heard, understood, and empowered.
  • Master Our Devices: Manage our fleet of Windows and macOS devices, ensuring they're secure, up-to-date, and ready to go. Oversee the provisioning and support of our IT assets, both digital and physical, ensuring everyone has what they need to succeed.
  • Streamline the Employee Journey: Collaborate with our Employee Experience team to make onboarding and offboarding a breeze, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all Sharks.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement: We value your feedback and ideas! Help us identify areas where we can enhance our IT processes and services.
What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean:
  • 4+ years of experience thriving in a fast-paced IT support role, preferably within a high-growth environment where you've honed your skills and adaptability.
  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems like Jira Service Management – you're comfortable navigating and managing support requests efficiently.
  • Deep knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems: You're a pro at troubleshooting, imaging, and deploying these systems, making sure they run smoothly.
  • Experience with Active Directory, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and IAM/endpoint security tools: You understand the backbone of a secure and well-functioning IT environment.
  • Experience with Google Workspace administration: You're comfortable managing user accounts, permissions, and collaboration tools.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills: You can explain complex technical concepts in a clear and friendly manner, building rapport with colleagues from all backgrounds.
  • A knack for problem-solving and a keen analytical mind: You enjoy digging into technical issues and finding creative solutions.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team: You're self-motivated but also a collaborative team player who values diverse perspectives.
  • An interest in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash), IT automation tools, and cloud platforms: You're eager to learn and explore new technologies that can improve efficiency and streamline processes.
Why You’ll Like Working for DigitalOcean
  • We innovate with purpose. You’ll be a part of a cutting-edge technology company with an upward trajectory, who are proud to simplify cloud and AI so builders can spend more time creating software that changes the world. As a member of the team, you will be a Shark who thinks big, bold, and scrappy, like an owner with a bias for action and a powerful sense of responsibility for customers, products, employees, and decisions.
  • We prioritize career development. At DO, you’ll do the best work of your career. You will work with some of the smartest and most interesting people in the industry. We are a high-performance organization that will always challenge you to think big. Our organizational development team will provide you with resources to ensure you keep growing. We provide employees with reimbursement for relevant conferences, training, and education. All employees have access to LinkedIn Learning's 10,000+ courses to support their continued growth and development.
  • We care about your well-being. Regardless of your location, we will provide you with a competitive array of benefits to support you from our Employee Assistance Program to Local Employee Meetups to flexible time off policy, to name a few. While the philosophy around our benefits is the same worldwide, specific benefits may vary based on local regulations and preferences.
  • We reward our employees. The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $100,000 based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire and the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
  • We value diversity and inclusion. We are an equal-opportunity employer, and recognize that diversity of thought and background builds stronger teams and products to serve our customers. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
