Project description
As a Platform DevOps Integration Engineer, you will work as part of the Platform Team within the Research and Development department, for a series of products which provide world leading solutions for validating cutting edge telecommunications networks. Our solutions offer innovative capabilities of emulating large parts of modern 5G networks, including Core Emulation, Radio Access Network Emulation, Centralized Unit/Distributed Unit Emulation, and even emulation of IP hosts and network applications generating network traffic on emulated User Equipment.
Responsibilities
As a member of the Platform Team you will play a key role in researching and developing solutions to enable rapid development and deployment of multiple products based on common platforms, running in a myriad of exciting environments including VSphere ESXi, KVM, Amazon Web Services, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, Kubernetes, Openshift.
Key Responsibilities
Research and development of platform solutions for TeraVM products.
Collaborating, designing and maintaining scalable and testable solutions.
Helping tune solutions for maximum performance across a wide range of platforms.
Delivering continuously in an Agile process.
Skills
Must have
Your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and Linux/Unix based infrastructure (5+ years)
Extensive scripting and automation experience (5+ years) ; focus will be on Bash, Python and other commonly used languages in production. This implies acting coding in this role (not tool manipulation and configuration)
Hands-on experience creating virtualized images (any of VMWare / Broadcom, KVM) and then orchestrating them in production (3+ years)
Experience in creating guided software install workflows to allow for deployment of software by end users (3+years)
Agile development
Excellent communication skills
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Degree or MSc in Telecommunications, Computer Science or Engineering
Nice to have
Experience using Cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure, Openstack) would be an advantage (scripting skills are key, but modern tooling usage is a major plus)
Familiarity with server hardware e.g. NUMA, PCI would be an advantage
