Job description

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a strategic Senior Manager Customer Pricing, Strategic Partners to drive pricing strategy, execution, and monitoring for our global Strategic Partner customers.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Customer Pricing & Reporting, the Senior Manager ensures targets are achieved through pricing excellence. They will serve as a key business partner to Strategic Partner Sales Leaders, providing counsel on all price matters, prioritizing customer deliverables and projects, and offering pricing recommendations and solutions.

This is a remote role that can be based out of the UK or Portugal.

What we’re looking for

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Marketing, Mathematics, Statistics or related field; MBA or Masters Degree is preferred
     

  • Experience: 5-8+ years applicable or equivalent work experience

    • 5+ years of progressively increased responsibility in a pricing, financial or business analyst role

    • Strong analytics and/or pricing background with execution experience

    • People management or team leadership experience

    • Advanced Excel and data manipulation
       

  • Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Concentrated experience on pricing process and value creation

As the Senior Manager, this is a highly visible and impactful role with responsibility for our most unique and high value contracts. The role has responsibility for:

  • Strategic Partner price strategy

  • Global pricing development analytics

  • Pricing Execution on Strategic Partners

  • Team Development

  • Pricing Monitoring (Key Metrics and Analytics)

  • Global RFP response enablement for Strategic Partners

  • Problem solving and Process improvement

  • Compliance and Contractual evaluation

  • Provide proactive leadership, coaching, performance management and ongoing development to team members. Support the pricing team by sharing best practices. Work with Pricing Leadership to manage resource allocation.

  • Drive customer pricing strategy with Global SP customers. Partner with Commercial Leadership on all aspects of pricing. Initiate and provide training to improve the pricing culture.

  • Monitor pricing performance, using different techniques to accomplish results. Root profitability analysis for Strategic Partners using problem solving techniques and implementing solutions.

  • Price Analytics: apply relevant analysis models to help drive pricing strategies to optimize profit while driving profitable growth.

  • Drive pricing renewal process to successful completion.

  • Analyze and provide final recommendations for large opportunities (incl. RFQ/RFP).

  • Execute pricing governance. Support pricing contractual terms. Ensure pricing controls compliance and manage customer pricing audits.

  • Responsible for collaborating with the different areas of Global Pricing team. Implement and harmonize customer pricing processes.

  • The candidate provides excellent modeling and analysis skills to help drive profit maximization.

  • The individual will also partner and communicate with other functional groups across the organization.

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment

  • High level of analytics. Ability to produce accurate and punctual reports in a fast-paced environment

  • Pricing contractual knowledge with compliance validation

  • Strong working knowledge of pricing & CRM software tools

  • Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while setting priorities, managing a diverse set of job responsibilities with effective organizational skills, and working within deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal skills in both communicating with and guiding the cross-functional Sales Teams
