HiQ Tyres & Autocare has an exciting new opportunity for a Relief MOT Tester Technician to join our team covering the South Region. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm – half a day finish on a Saturday, with a guide salary from £35,000 plus Bonus and Company Van.

What you will be doing as a Relief MOT Tester Technician:

As a regional role, you will be expected to be hands on and available to support our technicians, fitters, mechanics and MOT testers in the workshops across your region.
To cover holidays and sickness within your region.
Work on all makes and models of vehicles.
Perform diagnostics, servicing, and repairs.
Inspect vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and exhaust systems.
Conduct MOT tests on various types of vehicles, ensuring compliance with DVLA requirements.
Use hand tools and power tools effectively to perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
Document test results accurately and provide feedback to vehicle owners regarding any issues found.
Stay updated on changes in MOT regulations and testing procedures.
Carry out MOT Quality Control.
Always maintain health and safety standards, working within company guidelines and safe working practices.
Complete job cards, maintenance records, and associated paperwork to a high standard
To undertake any additional duties (within reason) for the efficient running of the Store.
To carry out administration duties as required within the store.
Assist in carrying out regular stock checks in accordance with Company Policy.

Overnight travel will be a requirement

What you will need:

At least 5 years’ experience within a in a fast-fit car centre or a recognised vehicle franchise dealership.
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
Have held a valid MOT Tester licence for at least 2 years.
Vehicle technician qualification and relevant experience.
Must have a full driver’s licence with no more than 9 points.
Team Leader experience.
Be a mentor to the teams on MOT and technical issues.
Ensure a fantastic customer experience whilst driving sales.
