Job Description:
GDIT has an immediate career opportunity for a Sr. Systems Engineer.
Contract funding ends 3/31/2025.
How the Sr. Systems Engineer will make an impact:
- Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of complex software programs to enhance an operating system.
- Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of hardware and software operating systems for the organization's products.
- Identifies system requirements for operations and security, and work with other engineers and staff to develop designs and integrate components.
- Performs system designs, developments and product verification testing on power, control systems, software, hardware, and equipment.
- Develops the operations, management, integration & security requirements.
- Develops and documents system architecture, including relevant user cases. g. Develops security procedures for design reviews, and for operational monitoring, recording, and responding to security events.
- Develops the client/company operations & system integration plan including end-to-end scenarios including schedules and budgets.
- Develops verification plans based on requirements and architecture documents.
- Defines operations, security and integration tool requirements to allow users to evaluate and analyze their network resources for performance and scalability in test-bed and modeled environments.
- Provides technical direction and oversees integration and prototype development efforts.
- Develops models for future architectural enhancements to system hardware. m. Provides technical leadership in operations, security, and integration for the client network.
- Leads technical tests, deployments and support projects.
- Manages installation, maintenance and support of complex technical infrastructures, hardware, and system software components.
- Manages and tunes platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved.
- Responsible for the instructing, assigning, and overseeing the performance of less experienced software systems engineers.
- Coordinates the activities of the software engineering department with other sections of the corporation's information systems operation.
- Provides team leadership to less experienced systems engineers.
- Ensure compliance with DOD and SRF policy and requirements.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- BS and 5 or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
- Secret clearance
- Technical experience working with Systems and Virtualization technologies, tools, and techniques, with experience working with large-scale enterprise/global networks in a high paced diverse environment.
- In-depth understanding and experience with the DOD Architecture Framework and other key DOD network architecture and strategic planning instructions.

- Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2/2016
- Microsoft Windows 10 Secure Host Baseline (SHB) desktop development & imaging
- Microsoft Active Directory

- Microsoft Exchange 2016 - Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014/2016
- Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
- Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
- Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013/2016
- Rights Management (Drive mapping/file transfer)
Installation, operations, and maintenance of the below systems infrastructure components
- Servers & Network Appliances (proxies, load balancers, etc.)
- NAS/SAN Storage
- Virtualized Environment
- Deploying/managing/optimizing servers in virtualized environment.
- Experience developing PowerShell scripts.
- Experience utilizing change and configuration management processes and procedures (ITIL)
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
The likely salary range for this position is $91,811 - $105,583. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
