POSITION SUMMARY

Agile Group is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to support the federal government by ensuring cybersecurity compliance, data protection, and secure system operations. This role is essential in maintaining Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance, managing Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, and implementing Zero Trust security principles. The Cybersecurity Specialist will provide security oversight, real-time monitoring, and proactive threat mitigation by NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DoD STIG requirements.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Cybersecurity Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with RMF and maintain eMASS records for USACE systems.
  • Develop and update the Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) for cybersecurity risk mitigation.
  • Conduct periodic Security Test & Evaluation (ST&E) and ATO maintenance activities.
  • Implement security controls per NIST SP 800-53 and DoD STIG guidelines.

Threat Detection & Incident Response

  • Perform continuous monitoring using real-time detection tools to identify and mitigate cybersecurity threats.
  • Develop and execute incident response plans (IRPs), including containment, investigation, and remediation strategies.
  • Prepare monthly threat assessment reports detailing vulnerabilities, threat intelligence, and security improvements.

Secure Architecture & Data Protection

  • Implement zero-trust security models to enforce least-privilege access and secure authentication.
  • Establish encryption protocols, secure cloud storage policies, and data loss prevention (DLP) measures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity policies and USACE CIO/G6 security directives.

Cybersecurity Strategy & Modernization

  • Provide expert recommendations for AI-driven threat detection enhancements.
  • Evaluate and integrate automated compliance reporting tools to streamline security oversight.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to improve secure DevSecOps practices and cloud security solutions.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS


Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • CISSP, Security+, CISM, CEH, or other cybersecurity certifications are preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity compliance, risk management, or IT security operations.
  • Strong understanding of RMF, NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DoD STIG compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with eMASS, ATO processes, POAM development, and security audits.
  • Hands-on expertise in incident response, threat detection, and SIEM tools (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust security principles and cloud security protocols.

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to analyze complex security requirements and implement risk-based solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting cybersecurity status and vulnerabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
