What We Do
First American is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Operations leader to oversee and optimize title and escrow operations with a specialized focus on the single-family rental (SFR) market. This leadership role is critical in supporting our rapidly expanding SFR segment, ensuring seamless transaction management, and driving operational excellence in complex securitization and refinancing transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead escrow operations for SFR transactions, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards.

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the end-to-end execution of scalable title processes for single-site SFR acquisitions and dispositions, bulk portfolio transactions, SFR securitizations, and financing transactions.

  • Collaborate with institutional clients, lenders, and investors to deliver high-quality service and tailored solutions for large-scale SFR operators.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including securitization participants, underwriters, and institutional buyers.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of title and escrow professionals focused on the SFR market.

  • Stay updated on both industry trends—including SFR market shifts, securitization practices, and regulatory developments—and strategies of individual players within the industry.

  • Work closely with technology teams to integrate innovative tools that enhance the client experience and streamline operations.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in title and escrow operations, with at least 5 years focused on the SFR market with strong national experience across major SFR markets.

  • Proven leadership in building, training, and managing teams while driving operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing SFR securitization and refinancing transactions.

  • Knowledge of build-to-rent developments and multi-market transactions.

  • Strong understanding of title insurance, escrow services, and regulatory compliance.

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with institutional clients and stakeholders, both internal and external.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to develop and execute strategic operational improvements.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with technology-driven title operations.

  • Familiarity with REITs, institutional investors, and large-scale real estate transactions.
