Job description

Summary

As the Senior Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for setting and managing strategic marketing goals, tracking progress, and providing direction for all marketing activities, including market research, campaigns, content creation, digital marketing, program infrastructure, and external events. This role ensures that marketing efforts align with strategic growth objectives, product development priorities, and formal product/service offerings to drive revenue growth. Additionally, in this position you will be supporting business units by enhancing customer experience and providing internal teams with expertise and marketing support related to product fit and resource utilization.

Remote role with travel to Bar Harbor, ME and other locations as needed.

Responsibilities (What you contribute)

  • Lead the development of global strategic marketing plans to achieve sustainable growth and support organizational objectives.

  • Ensure alignment of market positioning strategies by integrating input from business stakeholders and defining social media platforms.

  • Collaborate with portfolio management, utilizing market research, customer insights, and industry information to guide marketing resource alignment, product positioning, market segmentation, customer targeting, and goal setting

  • Establish a metrics-based approach to measure the impact of marketing activities on revenue growth, brand strength, product awareness, and customer base expansion. Use well-defined goals and metrics to assess success and refine sales and marketing campaigns.

  • Develop and lead a high-performing marketing team that meets stakeholder expectations and proactively addresses concerns. Implement training programs to enhance customer understanding, product knowledge, and marketing sophistication.

  • Oversee the expansion of targeted lead generation for all customer market segments, ensuring integration with sales for new customer conversion. Implement metrics to measure impact and guide future activities.

  • Manage the execution of customer-facing events to grow the customer base, strengthen the brand, effectively position the organization in the market, and improve ROI through better integration of external marketing resources.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (What you’re good at)

  • BS Degree, Masters preferred, 8-10 years of related experience with at least 8 years of supervisory experience.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the industry, value drivers for target customers, and the current status of development within the field.

  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, meet aggressive timelines, and deliver reliable results that satisfy stakeholders.

  • Ability to identify opportunities to optimize and leverage resources and budgets to maximize marketing and communication campaigns.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build networks and influence and motivate others to achieve individual and group objectives.

  • Advanced understanding of the marketplace, creativity in developing marketing approaches, and excellent writing and editing skills to ensure impactful campaign tactics.

  • Familiarity with aspects of sales, including technical sales.

  • Prior experience working in Life Sciences industry

Pay Range:  $157,688 - $277,662 based on total years of related experience
