About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Counsel, Product and Regulatory to join our collaborative Legal and Compliance team at WithClutch, Inc. In this role, you will take full ownership of legal and compliance initiatives, working cross-functionally with internal teams and directly with our Credit Union clients to deliver innovative solutions that redefine lending, account opening, and onboarding experiences.

As a key partner to our Product, Sales, and Implementation teams, you will play a critical role in balancing regulatory compliance with business objectives, ensuring that our solutions align with evolving legal standards while driving growth. You will proactively identify legal and compliance risks, develop clear and practical guidance, and effectively communicate regulatory standards to both internal stakeholders and external clients.

Your leadership will be instrumental in empowering Credit Unions to position themselves as market leaders by providing fintech-grade consumer experiences that seamlessly integrate with enterprise backends. This role demands a high level of initiative, problem-solving, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes while fostering strong relationships across the organization and with our clients.

About the Team

Our Legal and Compliance team is a small group of amazing individual contributors dedicated to ensuring that Clutch operates with integrity and adheres to the highest regulatory standards. Each team member brings a unique expertise, fostering a collaborative environment where innovative problem-solving and shared success thrive. Together, we partner closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to navigate complex legal and compliance landscapes, making a tangible impact on the financial solutions we deliver to credit unions and their members.

What You’ll Do

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Be familiar with the Company’s products and the regulatory frameworks of financial institutions

  • Understand the Company’s risk profile

  • Be able to successfully negotiate third-party contracts

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Advise business units on product decisions involving regulatory, legal, or compliance risk

  • Understand privacy and AI frameworks and advise business units on decisions related to those categories

  • Manage a small team of legal and compliance professionals to achieve Company objectives

Within 9 months, you will:

  • Lead all third-party contract negotiations

  • Advise executive functions on the Company’s risk profiles and prepare recommendations to mitigate corporate risk

  • Be knowledgeable on the Company’s full suite of products and be able to advise business units independently

  • Periodically speak to Credit Unions regarding legal and compliance matters

What You’ll Bring

  • years in a fast-paced environment, preferably in SaaS and/or Fintech

  • Licensed Attorney in the United States, preferably an in-house role in SaaS and/or Fintech

  • Experience interacting with regulatory bodies and/or financial institutions

  • Experience working with Privacy and AI initiatives
