Position Summary:

The Professional Services team at Perforce is searching for a Professional Services Engineer to join the team. The Professional Services Engineer works directly with customers to deploy, customize, and optimize Delphix technology solutions. This role involves understanding customer needs, managing implementations, and ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality service and support. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. 

Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for delivering various consulting engagements pertaining to implementations, migrations, upgrades, trainings, and general advising on topics in multiple technical areas
  • Support Sales efforts as a Delphix Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Research, troubleshoot and resolve complex problems with support from Engineering and Support teams
  • Improve Services Offerings by integrating field observations and solutions into the product roadmap as actional enhancement requests
  • Drive customer time-to-value (TTV) by identifying opportunities to improve delivery methods, process and technologies
  • Review and produce technical documentation and procedures
  • Assess customer bug and enhancement requests and assist in prioritizing development projects 
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of Professional Services organization through leading and participating in internal initiatives within the PS team.
  • Utilize scripting skills to contribute to internal tools
  • Foster and maintain a strong culture of delighting Delphix customers

  • Requirements:
  • Experience with SQL Server or Oracle DBMS, with deep understanding of backup and recovery, log architecture, and connectivity
  • Cloud experience in either AWS/GCP/Azure
  • Proven enterprise software install and configuration skills
  • Scripting experience in at least one of these languages --Bash shell, Powershell, Python, or Perl
  • UNIX/LINUX or Windows Sysadmin skills (build software, troubleshoot OS errors, analyze performance bottlenecks)
  • Experience with software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, XP, etc) and supporting technologies (bug tracking, source control, change management)
  • Ability to identify issues and risks proactively, predominantly in time to affect outcomes
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Talent for solving problems and enthusiasm for providing world-class support to our customers
  • Ability to adjust communication style to the target audience (management, technical staff) and situation (recognizing when a sense of urgency is needed)
  • Experience with remote reporting relationships
