Job description

CareDx, Inc., is currently looking for a Cloud Engineer. This position will report directly to our Infrastructure Manager. As a Cloud Engineer at CareDx you’ll have a key position within our global IT infrastructure supporting our offices in North America, Europe, and Australia. You will apply broad technical skills, with deep industry knowledge and business acumen. You are an IT specialist who has the skills and knowledge to navigate complex cloud environments, develop and implement cloud strategies, and ensure cloud systems stay up to date and run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer cloud solutions across multiple platforms (Azure and AWS).
  • Implementation and delivery of IT projects.
  • Documentation of solutions (e.g. architecture, configuration, and runbooks).
  • Consult with teams to build and support innovative solutions, data center migrations, and scaling their adoption of AWS, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Review and evaluate existing systems and software products to identify reuse and platforming opportunities and refactoring opportunities.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards for cloud services.
  • Monitor and maintain workloads in AWS and Azure.
  • Ensure security best practices are implemented and maintained throughout the environment.
  • Linux and Windows server deployments, and upgrades.
  • Design private and public cloud, networking, virtualization, identity, security, and storage. Experience with configuration management and automation technologies is preferred.
  • Analyzing cloud usage and identifying cost-saving measures
  • Collaborating with development teams to automate cloud deployments and infrastructure management.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix, and document problems, and implement preventive measures.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends, making recommendations for their implementation.
  • Provide after-hours and weekend support for critical network issues, ensuring minimal downtime for essential operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5+ years in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS and Azure
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject-matter experts
  • Demonstrated expertise in high-availability and performance-driven cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with hybrid infrastructure (on-premise, private, and public cloud
