INTECON, LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Multimedia Visual Communications Specialist to support AFWERX’s strategic communication initiatives. This role is responsible for creating, editing, and distributing multimedia content, including videos, graphics, photography, and animations, to convey AFWERX’s mission and impact to both internal and external stakeholders. The selected candidate will use their creative expertise to document events, enhance digital presence, and ensure branding consistency across all multimedia products.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Multimedia Visual Communications Specialist will:
- Produce high-quality multimedia content, including videos, photos, animations, infographics, and interactive presentations.
- Capture and edit photographs and videos to document AFWERX activities and engagements, ensuring compliance with DoD multimedia and branding guidelines.
- Design visually engaging graphics, logos, signage, and promotional materials for use in digital and print media to support government customer needs.
- Develop and maintain AFWERX's website, ensuring a user-friendly experience, up-to-date content, and visual consistency.
- Ensure all multimedia content complies with AFWERX branding guidelines, maintaining a consistent voice, tone, and visual identity.
- Organize, catalog, and archive multimedia content, ensuring easy retrieval, secure storage, and compliance with DoD asset protection standards.
- Determine appropriate photography and videography equipment for each assignment, including cameras, lighting, lenses, and attachments.
- Utilize industry-standard software for video editing, motion graphics, graphic design, animation, and audio production.
- Ensure multimedia content meets accuracy, security, and OPSEC requirements before distribution.
- Stay updated on emerging multimedia trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance AFWERX’s digital and visual communication strategies.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), internal teams, and external stakeholders to develop compelling multimedia storytelling assets.
- Review and incorporate stakeholder feedback to refine and enhance multimedia products.
- Participate in meetings and discussions to gather critical information for content development, ensuring alignment with AFWERX goals and priorities.
- Tailor multimedia content to resonate with target audiences, effectively demonstrating AFWERX’s value.
- Support live event coverage, including streaming, video recording, and photography as needed.
- Travel as required to capture and produce multimedia content at AFWERX events and engagements.
Qualifications
Education
Degree or certificate in Multimedia Production, Graphic Design, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in multimedia production, graphic design, or video editing, preferably within a military, government, or corporate environment.
- Strong creative and artistic abilities in photography, videography, animation, and multimedia storytelling.
- Proven ability to design and produce high-quality visual content that supports strategic communication objectives.
- Expertise in multimedia production software, including:
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects)
- Final Cut Pro
- Other industry-standard graphic design and video editing tools
- Strong understanding of photography and videography principles, including lighting, framing, and editing techniques.
- Experience creating and editing videos for digital platforms, including scripting, shooting, and post-production.
- Ability to develop engaging visual elements, including infographics, presentations, and digital assets for marketing campaigns.
- Excellent graphic design skills, with a keen eye for aesthetics, layout, and branding consistency.
- Strong ability to use multimedia storytelling techniques to enhance communication strategies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, ensuring effective teamwork across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools, including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, demonstrating strong time management skills under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously in a highly dispersed, remote organization while maintaining high productivity and effectiveness.
Certifications and Training
Preferred certifications:
- Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) – Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects
- Certified Digital Marketing Professional (CDMP)
- Google UX Design Certification
Proficiency in:
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects)
- Final Cut Pro and other video editing tools
- Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive)
- Social media content creation tools (Canva, Hootsuite)
- Digital asset management and cloud-based media storage systems
Specialized Training in:
- Motion graphics and animation for digital media
- Government and DoD multimedia production standards
- OPSEC-compliant communication and branding guidelines
Security Clearance
Active Secret Clearance required, with the ability to obtain Top Secret (TS/SCI) if needed.
