Position Purpose:   

The Associate Actuary will analyze data and work to drive risk adjustment outcomes throughout Centene’s block of business.

Candidates for this Associate Actuary role must have an ASA credential, a bachelor's degree, and a minimum of two years of actuarial experience.

In this Associate Actuary role, you will:

  • Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomes
  • Be accountable for ensuring timely and accurate updates to Risk Adjustment Initiative Revenue and Expense for forecasting.
  • Lead data driven analyses that drive change to programs and improve outcomes for our members.
  • Strengthen reporting and visibility of Risk Adjustment outcomes throughout Markets and Senior leadership team.
  • Conduct analysis to help drive continuing provider performance in all risk adjustment lines of business.
  • Relay results to markets and help markets understand key risk adjustment opportunities.

 

Education/Experience:  ​Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience. 2+ years of actuarial experience.

License/Certification: Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) (or equivalent international certification)

Highly preferred skills:

  • Excel (VBA), SQL and/or SAS
  • Experience with risk adjustment in at least one line of business, understanding the build-up of risk scores and how they impact payment. Additionally, coding experience is desired.
  • Experience with communicating a complex topic to non-technical audiences

*Applicants for this job have the flexibility to work remote from home anywhere in the Continental United States. However, due to the needs of the business, ideal work schedule is EST, CST, MST.*

Important Note:  The requirements for this Associate Actuary position include an ASA credential, a bachelor's degree, and at least two years of actuarial experience.

Pay Range: $86,000.00 - $154,700.00 per year
