Position Overview: Praetorian Security Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Human Resources and PeopleOps Specialist to support the company’s People operations. This role will report directly to the Director of People Operations ensuring the smooth execution of day-to-day HR processes, compliance requirements, and employee engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR functions, multi-state compliance, and administrative excellence, with a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic and fast-paced cybersecurity environment. Core responsibilities:

1. Tactical HR Administration

  • Manage backend HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee record maintenance in the HRIS system. 
  • Oversee E-Verify processes and ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, updates, and issue resolution.
  • Process payroll changes in coordination with Finance and Payroll teams.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of state registrations and tax withholdings.
  • Handle employee inquiries and escalate when needed.

2. Compliance Management

  • Monitor multi-state and international compliance.
  • Maintain HR documentation and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Support audits and implement corrective actions for compliance gaps identified by the Director of People Operations.

3. Policy Development and Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with People Ops leadership to develop and update HR policies and procedures.
  • Identify areas for improvement within existing HR processes and recommend solutions to streamline operations.
  • Explore and implement opportunities for automation to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.

4. Employee Engagement & Communication

  • Address employee queries related to policies, benefits, and HR systems.
  • Assist with company-wide communications for open enrollment, policy updates, and other HR initiatives.
  • Administer employee surveys and collate feedback for analysis by senior HR leadership.

5. HR Systems and Data Integrity

  • Maintain data accuracy in HR systems such as Rippling.
  • Generate reports and analytics for HR metrics as needed by the Director of People Operations.

7. Other Duties

  • Support company initiatives related to compensation bands and retention strategies
  • Provide tactical support for new hire orientations and training sessions.
  • Participate in ad-hoc HR projects as directed by the Director of People Operations.

Desired qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources with exposure to multi-state HR operations.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms (Rippling, Namely, or similar).
  • Familiarity with payroll and benefits administration.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-growth company is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent are preferred.
