Being a part of the AddeU Internship Program, you will be working on meaningful project(s) that you can feel proud of and present back to the company at the end of the experience. In addition to having a supporting manager and mentor, we have a fantastic onboarding program to get you acclimated and ready for your time with us. Fun events and super cool swag are also included!

At the moment, our 12-week internship experience will be in the Edinburgh office. Dates are currently set for June - September 2025 but please advise your recruiter. Seeking Scotland students only.

 

The Role

Engineering is at the core of Addepar, and we are looking to add the best, brightest, and most passionate software engineers to our team. Our software engineers come from a variety of backgrounds, ranging from Silicon Valley entrepreneurs to finance tech veterans. What they have in common is tremendous talent and dedication to architecting, implementing, and shipping high quality software. 

The Operating Tools team is a core building block of Addepar’s data management platform within the Data Management Product organization. The team manages tools to check quality of financial data, surface quality issues, and enable our operations teams to take corrective action. We partner directly with our customers to improve both their efficiency and quality of life.

We have several exciting new data control products that we’re building and we’d love to have you come build out the features with us! We focus on building applications with reusable frameworks, high scalability, and a wide impact at the company. Our engineering team primarily works in Java, Python, PySpark, Javascript, Terraform, and AWS.

What You’ll Do
  • Join a team that is responsible for some of the data management features within the product.
  • Implement backend focused improvements with the opportunity to perform full stack development depending on your interests.
  • Work with your teammates, product managers and designers  to deliver client requested features to production.
Who You Are 
  • Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution (university must be located in Scotland) & must be returning to school after internship.
  • Available to intern for the full 12 weeks.
  • Extraordinary talent in software engineering. Ability to write high quality object oriented code.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of development best practices and experience working in a team.
  • Ability to explore complex problems spaces objectively from multiple points of view.
  • Ability to learn in a fast paced environment.
  • General familiarity with some of the technologies we use: HTTP, REST and web API best practices. Java, Python, React, MySQL, Kafka.
  • Linux proficiency, basic shell scripting and a solid grasp of systems level programming is a plus.
  • Specific experience in or knowledge of financial data systems is a plus.
  • Specific experience in or knowledge of AWS is a plus.
