Job Description:
Position Overview:
We are seeking an expert Senior Storage Administrator with extensive experience in providing system administration services for PowerMax (PMAX) storage systems, specifically for iSeries hosts. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of SRDF, SNAPs, and PMAX tools such as CloudIQ and SRDF TimeFinder. This role involves managing storage resources, setting up monitoring and alerts, and documenting best practices for provisioning, performance, and capacity management.

Key Responsibilities:
· System Administration for PMAX Storage:
o Provide comprehensive system administration services for PowerMax storage systems supporting iSeries hosts.
o Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and availability of storage resources.
· SRDF and SNAPs Management:
o Implement and manage Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF) for data replication between two locations.
o Configure and manage snapshots (SNAPs) for point-in-time data copies and recovery.
· Alerts and Monitoring Setup:
o Assist in setting up alerts and monitoring systems for daily administration and proactive management of storage environments.
o Ensure timely detection and resolution of potential issues to maintain system health.
· PMAX Tools Expertise:
o Utilize PMAX tools such as CloudIQ for monitoring, analytics, and performance optimization.
o Leverage SRDF TimeFinder for advanced replication and recovery operations.
· Provisioning, Performance, and Capacity Guidelines:
o Assist in the provisioning of storage resources, ensuring efficient and effective allocation.
o Document best practices and guidelines for performance tuning and capacity management.
o Provide recommendations for optimizing storage performance and scalability.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· Minimum of 8+ years of experience in storage administration, specifically with PowerMax (PMAX) systems and iSeries hosts.
· Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with SRDF, SNAPs, CloudIQ, and SRDF TimeFinder.
· Strong understanding of storage management principles, best practices, and performance optimization techniques.
· Proven ability to design, implement, and manage complex storage solutions.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to respond to storage-related issues effectively.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Certifications:
· Dell EMC Proven Professional Certification
· IBM Certified System Administrator - Power Systems
· Certified Storage Networking Expert (CSNE)
