Job description

This is a full time, remote Summer Internship that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Calix is looking for a Summer intern to join our Commercial Strategy team. In this role, you will be part of a unique and award-winning internship program within the company. The program provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on the job learning.

Reporting to the Director, Competitive Intelligence, this role will provide primary research and analysis for Calix competitive and market opportunities. The ideal candidate is endlessly curious about how broadband service providers, of all size, leverage the Calix broadband platform and managed services to simplify their processes for operations, engagement, and service, innvoate for their consumer, business, and community subscribers, and grow their bsuiness and the communities they serve.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Contribute to the team’s daily gathering and analysis of competitor announcements and relevant technology updates including looking for/employing new research strategies to help automate the data collection.
  • Assist with looking for / employing new research strategies to help automate data collection.
  • Analyze financial and transactional data to determine competitor strategies and positioning points.
  • Work closely with sales to understand competitor talking points, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Develop and maintain foundational competitive intelligence sales enablement assets.
  • Communicate intelligence learned through presentations, internal website updates and Chatter communications.
  • Research emerging trends impacting our industry to support product and marketing decision making.

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university and returning to school in the Fall
  • Ability to synthesize and interpret complex sets of data to provide insights and analysis of key elements of a product or solution
  • Excellent written communication and team collaboration skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Experience with Seismic and Chatter a plus.
  • Flexibility/adaptability with a can-do attitude, and an ability to react quickly to identified opportunities.
  • Endlessly curious.
  • Ability to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September).
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are currently in their Junior or Senior year of college.

Compensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education.

San Francisco Bay Area Only:

21.85 - 28.75 USD Hourly

National Major Cities plus, CA, CO, NY Metro area:

19.00 - 25.00 USD Hourly

Regional plus NY:

17.10 - 22.50 USD Hourly
