FP&A Analyst

Location: Durrington, with a hybrid approach (office-based Monday and Tuesday, work from home the rest of the week)

Perm/FTC: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Circa £34,000

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for turning data into actionable insights?

We’re looking for a proactive FP&A Analyst to join our dynamic Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Team and grow your career as a finance expert. In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with our FP&A Managers to ensure the accuracy of systems like TM1, while contributing to month-end reporting, budgeting, and critical analysis to support our Finance Business Partners (FBPs).

This is a fantastic opportunity to build your skills, collaborate across teams, and play a vital role in delivering financial insights that drive informed decision-making.

What you’ll do:

  • Own the overhead capitalisation model, engaging with the FBP community to capture inputs, apply them to month-end results, and support year-end audits.

  • Support the month-end processes, specifically around payroll and capex, ensuring report accuracy and providing routine analysis.

  • Collaborate with FBPs to deliver meaningful analysis, investigations, and insights, equipping them to better support their stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be:

  • Highly organised, as you’ll be supporting five FP&A Managers.

  • Data-savvy, with a strong understanding of its importance and integrity.

  • A confident communicator, comfortable working across teams to build strong relationships.

Why join us?

When you join Southern Water, you’ll become part of a team that sits at the heart of the Finance function, giving you exposure to various stakeholders and opportunities to nurture long-lasting connections that can propel your career forward. You’ll enjoy a hybrid working pattern, with two days a week in our conveniently located Durrington office (plenty of parking or easy access via public transport).

Southern Water is a company committed to making a difference. Our purpose is to provide water for life—enhancing health and wellbeing, protecting and improving the environment, and supporting the economy. Under new leadership, we are driving a high-profile turnaround plan and investing heavily in improving services for our customers.
