Cascade AIDS Project is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist. The Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist performs a variety of specialized, complex, confidential, technical and administrative support work for the Finance department and interacts with staff across the agency.

This is a Full-Time role working at our Davis St. location in the old town area of Portland. The schedule for this role is a hybrid 3 days in the office and two days work from home. Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm.

Starting pay is $55,000 a year.

 

 

Who You Are

  • Some formal accounting education
  • 2-4 years of experience in varied accounting functions such as general ledger, AR/AP processing, payroll, reconciliation or bookkeeping.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures used in Accounts Payable and general accounting.
  • Strong initiative & self-start with analytical skills to effectively solve problems.
  • Must be detail-oriented by nature.
  • Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data and in Excel.

 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Receives invoices, verify documentation, authorization, coding, payment terms and reasonableness of purchased goods and services. Enters invoice information into accounts payable software and prepares payments in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepares and implements weekly check runs, facilitates signing of checks, and uploads data to positive pay
  • Ensures proper documentation accompanies checks and distributes checks to appropriate person(s) or mail system for delivery. Ensures only authorized use of agency checks by maintaining checks in a secure manner.
  • Maintains appropriate internal control over the disbursement of agency funds as authorized.
  • Downloads monthly agency credit card statement data and produces reconciliation Excel workbook for cardholders. Ensures credit cards are reconciled within established guidelines. 
  • Maintains accounts payable files in an accurate manner, ensuring information is readily retrievable.
