Job description

Summary:

We are looking for a Shopify Developer to enhance, optimize, and maintain Shopify-based e-commerce platforms. The role includes customizing themes, improving user experience, implementing advanced functionalities, and ensuring high-performance website operations. The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in web development, proficiency in Shopify tools, and expertise in optimizing websites for SEO and conversion

Key Responsibilities:

1. Website Development & Optimization:
  • Customize Shopify themes to reflect Southern Cross Fitness branding and improve aesthetic
  • Optimize website layout for mobile and desktop users, ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
  • Ensure fast loading times and improved Core Web Vitals scores.
2. Functionality Enhancements:
  • Implement advanced product filtering and search functionalities for better navigatio
  • Integrate user-friendly features like wishlists, product comparison tools, and enhanced checkout experiences.
  • Streamline the multi-step purchase process for improved user retention.
3. Content & SEO Improvements:
  • Audit and refine product descriptions for clarity, SEO, and conversion
  • Optimize image alt texts, metadata, and content hierarchy to improve search engine rankings.
  • Ensure all pages are structured for effective internal linking and better indexing.

4. Integration of Tools:
  • Manage integration with Shopify apps (e.g., Klaviyo, Google Analytics, and Loox) for marketing and tracking purposes
  • Develop custom solutions to bridge any gaps not addressed by existing Shopify tools.

5. Ongoing Maintenance & Reporting:
  • Monitor website performance metrics and provide monthly improvement reports.
  • Fix bugs, improve security, and regularly update plugins and features.

Areas Needing Improvement:

1. User Experience:
  • Improve navigation menus and product categories for easier browsing.
  • Address inconsistent design elements across pages for cohesive branding.
2. Speed Optimization:
  • Reduce image and script loading times without sacrificing qualit
3. Conversion Optimization:
  • Enhance CTAs (Call-to-Actions) on high-traffic pag
  • A/B test layouts and product page designs to maximize sales.
4. Customer Engagement:
  • Implement a robust review section and UGC (user-generated content) integration.
  • Add real-time customer support options like chat plugins.

  • Proven experience in Shopify development with a strong portfolio.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liqui
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and conversion rate optimization.

  • Work Schedule: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM (PH Time); 8:30 AM / 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM / 6:00 PM (AEST)
