The Property Management Accountant is responsible for providing bookkeeping and accounting services to franchise owners. This position is responsible for maintaining accounting best practices for assigned franchises. Incumbents are expected to build trust and maintain open communications with their assigned franchises.

The Property Management Accountant provides expert training, bookkeeping and accounting services to Real Property Management franchise owners. Our team helps franchise owners navigate their way through the complex nature of property management and trust accounting, allowing them to focus on the growth and profitability of their businesses. Our mission is to help franchises be more successful by removing the burden of hiring and training staff to perform critical bookkeeping and accounting functions.

· Analyze financial information detailing income, expenses, assets, and liabilities and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.

· Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.

· Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to your franchise business owners.

· Prepare/review and assist with bank account reconciliations.

· Complete monthly trust account balancing.

· Submit financial data in the Royalty Submission Tool.

· Train and support franchise and staff in industry software accounting practices and procedures.

· Support franchises with special accounting requests.

· Maintain confidentiality of personal information

· Understand and apply generally accepted accounting principles within the business environment.

· Help with Bookkeeper support tasks as franchise load permits.

· Ensure client transactions are recorded timely and accurately.

· Provide feedback for and participate in continuous improvement of procedures and processes.

· Perform other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than their own.

· Must have strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills.

· Strong understanding of accounting processes.

· Ability to understand and meet strict deadlines.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.

· Ability to act and operate independently and accomplish objectives with minimal daily direction from manager.

· Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications – emphasis on Excel and Outlook.

· Ability to learn industry-specific software.

· Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively within team.

· Ability to train new franchises.

· Ability to build relationships and trust with new franchises.

Education & Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting

Experience: At least two years of related experience
