Who You Are:

You consider yourself a crypto enthusiast and a podcast production expert. You have deep experience owning full-cycle digital video/video podcast production, including concept development, technical production, post-production, and publishing strategy. You blend a keen understanding of the crypto audience with a data-driven approach, using performance metrics to help shape your perspective and insights on growing a brand.

You're a natural leader and not afraid to step into formal and informal leadership positions. You're at home coaching, managing, and providing feedback to other producers, associate producers, hosts, and editors. You are comfortable leading communications and strategies with high-profile hosts, talent, Sr. Leadership, and internal or external stakeholders. You are confident in your instincts and your ability to bring the best out of everyone you work with.

What You’ll Do:

As one of our Sr. Podcast Producers, you'll work with our incredibly talented hosts, producers, and editors to produce and grow top-tier content for your assigned show(s). In addition to producing and growing your own dedicated shows, you’ll own production schedules/workflows and manage producers and editors to ensure that shows under your purview are delivered on time and to the highest possible quality.

Every day will look a little different, but in general, you will do things like:

  1. Manage Show Production: You’ll own production management across a segment of our slate, managing schedules, workflows and team members to ensure that productions are running smoothly, delivering on time and to Blockworks’ creative standard.

  2. Research, Develop, and Produce Episodes: You'll oversee ideas from conception through production. This includes everything from creating detailed interviewee briefings for our hosts to story editing the episode to overseeing the edit and publishing to the feeds.

  3. Identify, Source, and Secure Guests: You'll proactively work to identify podcast guests who have untapped potential for creating exceptional stories relevant to our in-house shows.

  4. Create Dynamic Copy and Social Content: You'll lead the development and creation of podcast copy (i.e., titles, descriptions, etc.) and produce social clips, posts, and content that help drive viewer engagement and downloads.

  5. New Show Development: You’ll work with the Director of Podcasts to develop new show concepts, review pitches, incubate talent, and continuously develop the Blockworks slate.

  6. Learn and Embrace the Blockwork Audience: In conjunction with the rest of the production team, you'll work to understand the core audience segments and proactively uncover insights that will stimulate engagement and content evolution.

  7. Sponsorship Engagement: You'll help to drive engaging sponsorship campaigns that create exceptional results that grow our awareness, audience, and revenue.

Experimentation is frequent at Blockworks. Comfortability with being uncomfortable is a must.

What You’ve Done Before:

You have a passion for creating exceptional content, with an eye for detail and the technical know-how to execute complex, multi-platform content production on a weekly or daily publishing schedule.

  • You have at least 2-4 years of experience producing, publishing, and growing a weekly podcast/digital video brand, ideally in the finance/digital asset/crypto space.

  • You have demonstrated success in a Sr. Producer role, including managing production teams, owning production schedules, and overseeing episodic production from concept through delivery. Highly experienced Producers who are ready to take the next step will also be considered.

  • You are a regular on crypto Twitter, and you have your finger on the pulse of major crypto narratives/players, emerging stories, and breaking news.

  • You have a perspective on content growth strategy and are interested and proactive about seeking out new audiences and opportunities.

  • You have a track record of exceptional written and verbal communication and are comfortable liaising with high-profile talent, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.

  • You're extremely organized and creative and also enjoy diving into data to measure the success and performance of your creativity.

It’d Be Great If You’ve Done This:

If you have experience in developing, implementing, and adapting production workflows (remote and in-studio) to maximize efficiency, we want to hear about it. Having coached show talent/hosts on how to improve their interviewing and hosting skillsets may also set you apart from other candidates. Lastly, we’d love to have someone who has developed a show from the ground up and understands how to vet a pitch/concept based on business/creative needs.

This is a full time exempt position with an expected salary of $92,500/year.
