We practice an independent, remote workstyle with work distributed in cross-functional matrix teams that span predominantly EST and CET time zones. If working remotely isn’t for you, we also have a large office in Berlin and soon in NYC that you can choose to work from. What you'll do
At eyeo, you will gain or deepen experience and knowledge in many areas of accounting, including customer and vendor transactions, fixed assets, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, financial statement reporting and analysis, audit and tax support. You will have career growth opportunities to work on various projects, like ERP optimization, business process improvement and internal controls. As a Senior Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the financial health of the company by driving accurate reporting, improving processes and supporting strategic decision-making. We’re looking for a proactive problem-solver with strong interpersonal skills who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Your day-to-day activities:
- Maintain the general ledger
- Research and resolve accounts receivable issues including determining collectability concerns
- Process and record payroll on a timely basis
- Ensure timely recording and payment of vendor payables and liabilities
- Prepare accurate month-end and quarter-end financial close activities within the required deadlines
- Prepare and review monthly reconciliations
- Group consolidation: assist and improve accurate and timely financial reporting across subsidiaries
- Prepare and tie out financial statements and analyses monthly
- Assist with technical accounting research
- Work with senior manager and corporate controller to establish processes and internal controls
- Assist with audit fieldwork
- Prepare standard operating procedure instructions
- Identify risks and process gaps along with developing and implementing solutions
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in accounting practices
- Assist with quarterly VAT filings
- Ad hoc projects as needed
What you bring to the table
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or foreign degree equivalent
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role; past experience in a publicly traded company preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP
- Experience with payroll systems, tax software, reconciliation and data analytics tools is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Business fluency in German and English
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail are a must
- Highly developed attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
