Job description

Who We Are

At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward – always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities.

The Role

Come join the Cloud Journey Optimization Team for the opportunity to learn valuable skills on the job related to developing, deploying, and maintaining cloud native applications.  We work across all cloud vendors, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and IBM Cloud, and work with a variety of cloud services, including databases, messaging systems, serverless functions, API Gateways, CI/CD pipelines, various security related services, and more.  We developed, and are continually enhancing, a Kubernetes-based cloud-native application that runs in such hyperscalers, using such cloud services.

We also have a focus on mainframe modernization; that is, how to modernize legacy mainframe applications to run in the cloud (using tools to convert COBOL and JCL to Java or .NET, and to move legacy data to modern PostgreSQL or NoSQL databases in the cloud), or how to create hybrid applications where part of them run in the cloud on modern technologies, and part of them exist on the mainframe and are called by the cloud-native part of the application.  We also dabble in other technologies, including agile methodologies, writing mobile applications (like for iOS or Android), building Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, various security technologies, and more.

We are looking for motivated, self-starter individuals who are eager to learn on the job and contribute to a team that works with the world’s largest banks, insurance companies, telecoms, and more, helping them be successful in their journey to the cloud.
