Overview
Are you a legally skilled, tech-savvy Paralegal who wants to join a collaborative, fast paced and exciting team? Are you looking for something unlike any traditional firm you’ve worked for in the past? Then you’re in the right place!
We’re looking for a paralegal (remote) who is self-starting, a proactive problem solved, has great communication skills (written and verbal), strong attention to detail, and thrives in dynamic environments. As a Paralegal, you are a vital part of making sure every case is as successful as possible! You will help move cases forward and advocate for clients while you support co-counsel in your state/region as they deliver professional legal services to our clients. Your perspective will also be critical to ensuring our internal teams understand the client and co-counsel experiences so we can constantly work together to improve.
What you'll do:
- Review court documents with Clients to ensure accuracy and understanding
- Collect signatures and execute court filings and service of process
- Perform regular case reviews with attorneys to ensure accurate case status updates, collection and calendaring of court dates and deadlines to ensure cases move as quickly as possible
- Partner with our Customer Support team to handle and resolve client questions and escalations
- Maintain routine communications with clients about case status
- Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
- Work as part of a team with all levels of experiences
- Provide assistance to other departments as required.
Who you are:
- Motivated by fast changing environments
- Excited to think of creative ways to advocate for clients and find ways to move cases forward
- An understanding of and/or working knowledge of Texas Family Law Litigation transactions is required
- Prefer 2 years of Paralegal experience working in Texas Family Law
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices etc.
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
- Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision
- High proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, G Suite and overall tech savvy, able to learn new systems quickly and be comfortable with technology
- Responsive and adaptable, start-up experience and/or interest is preferred
- Comfortable with remote work environments and, use of communications tools like Slack
- Paralegal Certificate preferred
- Legal Document Preparer Certificate is a huge plus
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is huge plus
