Job description

The Resource Manager deploys resources for pre and post sales projects with Workiva’s Customer and Partner Experience (CPX) organization. This person is the liaison between Sales, Implementation Consultations, Solutions Architects, Project Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and Customer Success. The Resource Manager must also ensure that project resourcing is managed in order to assure timely delivery and must communicate to appropriate project managers resourcing issues that may impact scheduled deadlines.


What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with department leaders to allocate resources for customers, partners, and projects

  • Oversee resource allocation, ensuring alignment with demand, capacity, skills, and experience

  • Match customer needs with expertise and availability based on scoping notes

  • Liaise between customers externally and internally with Sales, Implementation Consultations, Solutions Architects, Project Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and Customer Success for proper resource allocation

  • Develop equitable workload assignments by analyzing estimated and logged hours

  • Assess consulting and PMO teams' capacity, sharing resource capacity with leadership regularly

  • Monitor project resourcing to address under- and over-utilization, resolving issues with managers

  • Assign resources for sales and implementation meetings, staying informed on current and upcoming projects

  • Conduct weekly meetings with Team Managers to discuss active programs, new business, and potential issues

  • Report on weekly utilization to identify areas for improvement.

  • Coach stakeholders on resource request procedures and manage booking conflicts

  • Make resource decisions during the presales process and facilitate resourcing issues for successful deployment

  • Enhance visibility and strengthen the resource management process using systems and technology

  • Maintain accurate resourcing data in resourcing platforms (i.e. NetSuite OpenAir


What You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of related career experience in resource planning, operations or data analysis

  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field

  • Proficiency in cloud-based software and spreadsheets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; proficient at developing relationships with employees and all levels of management demonstrated ability to be a trusted resource to all

  • Proven effective communication skills (written, listening and verbal) with all levels of the organization

  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple processes, programs, and procedures simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines is a must

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment; capable of effective planning and priority setting

  • Possess the technical skills and knowledge required to perform essential tasks in an efficient and effective manner

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite especially Excel is preferred

  • Advanced proficiency with Salesforce is preferred

  • Experience in resource management or project management

Working Conditions & Travel Requirement 

  • Minimal travel required

  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office
