Cedar’s Security Operations team is at the forefront of safeguarding this mission. By integrating deep threat analysis with cutting-edge technology, we build scalable, proactive detection and prevention measures to protect Cedar and the people we serve.
As a Security Operations Engineer, you’ll collaborate with a diverse and inquisitive team in a rapidly growing environment. Your role will be pivotal in identifying threats, mitigating risks, and building systems that enhance Cedar’s security posture. From planning cross-functional security exercises to developing custom tooling and investigating anomalous behavior, you’ll work on impactful challenges that protect Cedar and the tens of millions of patients we serve.

About you
- You’re an engineer with a security mindset who tackles challenges with technology over process.
- You have experience solving technical problems collaboratively in dynamic environments.
- You excel at communicating security risks and controls to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- You’re proactive about raising concerns and proposing improvements.
- You’re familiar with at least one general-purpose programming language
Bonus points if you have:
- Familiarity with securing health and payments data, including HIPAA and PCI compliance.
- Hands-on experience investigating security incidents in complex environments.
- A track record of developing innovative solutions for security challenges.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and address threats and risks by building scalable solutions for detection, response, and mitigation.
- Investigate security events to uncover root causes and develop actionable next steps.
- Maintain and improve the capabilities of our deployed security tools and processes.
- Contribute to automation projects such as vulnerability management and log enrichment.
- Collaborate across teams to run security training exercises and strengthen organizational awareness.

Compensation Range and Benefit
- Salary/Hourly Rate Range*: $119,000 - $140,000
- This role is equity eligible
