Logistics UK is excited to announce two opportunities to lead and shape a critical area of transport and logistics policy as Head of Decarbonisation Policy. This role plays a pivotal part in driving our strategic vision, representing our members, and influencing government and industry stakeholders.

Head of Decarbonisation Policy

As the Head of Decarbonisation Policy, you will own and lead Logistics UK’s sustainability agenda, devising strategies to drive the industry’s transition to net zero across all logistics modes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of decarbonisation policy, creating innovative proposals that influence government and industry thinking.
  • Build strong relationships with decision-makers, including senior government officials and industry stakeholders.
  • Produce high-quality reports, consultation responses, and presentations, representing Logistics UK as a media spokesperson when required.
  • Manage and mentor a team of policy professionals, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Lead member engagement through councils and working groups, securing consensus and actionable outcomes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in policy development within logistics, transport, or public affairs.
  • Outstanding communication and persuasion abilities, confident in engaging with senior stakeholders and high-level discussions.
  • A visionary leader with the capacity to inspire teams and deliver impactful results.
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability or transport policy, with a demonstrated history of shaping decisions at senior levels.
  • Excellent analytical skills paired with strong leadership and effective communication.
  • A strategic, forward-thinking mindset with a proactive approach to influencing change.
