As a Bookkeeper for this dynamic tree care company, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of the business. You’ll be entrusted with reconciling transactions in QuickBooks, ensuring perfect alignment with Excel records, and preparing well-organized financial data for seamless year-end tax processing. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your financial acumen in a growing industry, working closely with the company’s leadership and external accountants. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating a robust financial foundation that supports the company’s expansion and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Reconcile a diverse range of transactions in QuickBooks, including checks, direct withdrawals, and various financial activities, ensuring pinpoint accuracy
  • Perform meticulous matching of QuickBooks entries against the company’s Excel spreadsheet records, maintaining a dual-system approach for enhanced financial integrity
  • Conduct regular balance checks to ensure perfect alignment between QuickBooks and Excel spreadsheet figures
  • Prepare and organize financial records with a focus on facilitating smooth year-end tax preparation processes
  • Collaborate closely with the company’s accountant, providing accurate and up-to-date financial data to support broader financial management
  • Implement and maintain efficient bookkeeping processes that contribute to the overall financial health and decision-making capabilities of the business
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies in financial records promptly, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy
  • Assist in developing financial reports that provide valuable insights into the company’s financial performance and growth trajectory


Requirements

  • Proven proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Sharp attention to detail with a track record of maintaining highly accurate financial records
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to reconcile and balance complex financial accounts
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and best practices in financial management
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage and prioritize multiple transactions efficiently
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the company’s leadership and external accountant
  • Experience in or willingness to learn about the specific financial aspects of the tree care or service industry
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Commitment to confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information with the utmost discretion
  • Adaptability to evolve with the company’s growing needs and potentially take on additional administrative tasks as required
