2025 Summer Internship consists of 40 hours/week, 10-12 weeks starting in late May.

About Clinical Development

 The Tolmar Clinical Development team is responsible for nonclinical and clinical studies conducted in support of Tolmar products, both generic and branded. Members of the team are responsible for strategic and scientific input on future nonclinical and clinical programs, working collaboratively to design, plan, implement, analyze, and report studies with the overarching goal of new product development.

Operationally, the team works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to evaluate new therapeutic targets and/or formulations and to recommend potential new product development opportunities in consideration of nonclinical and clinical studies required to achieve regulatory approval.

Proposed Work Description

The nature of business is that priorities can shift according to the needs of the company/department. Therefore, the work described below is a sampling of the kinds of work we expect this position to entail:

This position will work directly with the Tolmar Manager, Toxicology and Nonclinical Scientist in early-stage development to aid in the research, analysis, and interpretation of nonclinical study data. The intern will:

  • Gain an understanding of the early-stage drug development process and how it leads into the later stages encompassing GLP studies and regulatory submissions.
  • Help with new product screening and nonclinical recommendations for product advancement.
  • Gain experience interpreting pharmacokinetic, toxicokinetic, and safety data of a proprietary injectable product.
  • Strengthen research skills and learn how to write and review protocols, reports, and study data for nonclinical studies.
  • Become familiar with different elements of nonclinical study design by reviewing application summaries to provide study recommendations.
  • Present study data and additional findings at the end of the internship.

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills with an ability to communicate scientific concepts to a variety of individuals with varied backgrounds.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Proficient computer skills with demonstrated experience in working with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook).

 Education & Experience

  • Pursuing a college- or graduate-level degree in a related scientific field (e.g.: biology, toxicology, pharmacology).

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Pay: $19.00 per hour

      Tolmar compensation programs are focused on equitable, fair pay practices including market-based base pay and a strong benefits package. The final compensation offered may vary from the posted range based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. 

      Working Conditions

      • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
      • Work is performed primarily remotely. The intern must have access to a private, quiet working area during business hours (8 AM-5 PM Mountain Time).
