About this opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Leader to join our team. This role is critical for driving market expansion, fostering partnerships, and aligning operational activities with the company’s commercial strategy across cotton, sugar, and broader commodity markets

We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Leader to drive strategic growth and forge impactful industry partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results in business development and commercial strategy while working within diverse commodity supply chains.

What we’re looking for:

  • Negotiating Off-take Agreements: Successfully securing multi-year off-take agreements, in cotton, sugar, or other commodities, with a focus on achieving key commercial objectives.
  • Partnership Development: Identifying and establishing strategic partnerships, particularly in post-farm gate opportunities, to align with growth initiatives.
  • Market Expansion: Demonstrating expertise in expanding market share by identifying emerging opportunities and implementing strategies aligned with commercial goals.
  • Industry Representation: Representing Avalo at industry meetings, conferences, and events, with the ability to provide actionable insights and reports post-engagement, as needed and requested
  • Opportunity Execution: Opening and executing new business opportunities, ensuring alignment with overarching company strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Building and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers and influencers to drive commercial and strategic outcomes from farm operations to processing facilities
  • Customer Onboarding & Feedback Integration: Developing seamless onboarding processes and mechanisms to collect and integrate customer feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Retention Strategy Development: Crafting and guiding retention strategies, including infrastructure enhancements to foster long-term customer loyalty.
  • Product Development Collaboration: Translating customer needs into actionable feedback for technical teams to drive product innovation relevant to cotton, sugar, and other major crops
  • Competitive Intelligence & Market Analysis: Conducting market research to track competitor activities, trends, and emerging consumer preferences, and providing leadership with strategic insights.
  • Spinning & Milling Expertise: Offering technical expertise and insights into spinning and milling processes to support product development.
  • Strategic Support: Collaborating with leadership to align operational activities with broader business objectives and growth goals.
