Job description

Associate National Director of High School Transition

Work Location:

Remote - USA

Schedule:

Full time

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position will support the building of partnerships with youth ministries, Christian high schools, parents, youth ministry networks, and denominational and church leaders to advance campus ministry; will assist in overseeing the development and implementation of strategies aimed at increasing the number of incoming college students who choose InterVarsity as their campus fellowship. Additionally, this role will contribute to creating resources to serve parents of college students and help enhance InterVarsity's recognition and reputation in these areas.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Build Partnerships with Youth Ministries, Christian High Schools, and Denominational and Church Leaders

  • Assists the National Director of High School Transition in formulating and executing strategies to establish connections with key leaders, partners, and organization
  • Oversee the implementation of senior hand-off tasks during the late spring and summer
  • Design and implement processes to accommodate the rising number of high school seniors being introduced to campus minsters
  • Collaborate with the National Director of High School Transition in creating formal organizational partnerships and alliances which connect graduating high school students to InterVarsity
  • Initiate and sustain relationships with key decision-makers or influencers in agreed-on organizations or networks
  • Assist in developing and promoting resources used by partners to connect student
  • Promote awareness and use of other InterVarsity resources (e.g., people, conferences, IVP, ministry materials) 

Contribute to the development of an InterVarsity Parent Engagement program

  • Integrate parent engagement in the development and ongoing cultivation of partnerships. 

Assist in the Development of Tools to Increase InterVarsity Staff and Student Engagement with Incoming Students

  • In coordination with the National Director, work with Vice Presidents, National Directors, and Regional Directors to identify and develop best-practice Field strategies which increase the number of high school students that participate as college freshmen in InterVarsity ministries.  
    • Assist in developing resources that amplify, support, and integrate with the New Student Outreach efforts of staff and chapters 
    • Partner with Communications, Alumni, S and I, and Marketing teams to leverage connections with incoming students

Engage in Campus Ministry as Requested:

  • Engage in campus ministry and teaching as requested
  • Preach, teach, and train in InterVarsity, church and other ministry settings
  • Stay current on trends in culture, church, and ministry
  • Give special stewardship to one of the four areas of partnership engagement: Prioritizing Church and Youth Pastor engagement

Provide General Administration:

  • Partner with Development team, Urbana, and Executive Office as requested
  • Work within InterVarsity’s policies and procedures
  • Report to primary supervisors in a timely manner
  • Keep expenses within budget
  • Carry out additional administration work as requested
  • Participate on External Partnership team, and other InterVarsity projects, as requested
  • Raise personal support at level agreed upon with supervisor

Pay Range: $61,836.00 - $82,452.00 per year
