Description

The Settlement Analyst II is a mid-level role handles more complex settlement and reconciliation tasks. This role involves managing high-volume processes, resolving escalated discrepancies and contributing to process improvements.  The Settlement Analyst II works with greater autonomy and provides support to other analysts. The Settlement Analyst II has a moderate level of autonomy in decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex reconciliations of financial transactions, settlements, and accounts across multiple systems.
  • Research and resolve escalated discrepancies and high-risk settlement issues.
  • Analyze settlement data and provide insights for management reports.
  • Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements to settlement processes.
  • Reconcile daily financial transactions, settlements and bank accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between internal records and external bank statements or settlement reports.
  • Prepare daily balancing and reconciliation reports for internal review.
  • Maintain accurate records of settlements, tickets, cases for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Accounting, Operations) to resolve settlement issues.
  • Communicate with external parties, such as banks or payment processors to address and resolve discrepancies.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to financial settlements.
  • Support audits and provide documentation as required.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline settlement processes and improve efficiency.
  • Support team initiatives and projects as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or 5 years of operational banking.
  • 4 years of experience in the payments industry or operational banking, strongly preferred
  • Basic understanding of financial principles, accounting, and reconciliation processes.
  • Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with reconciliation systems or software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving/critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
