Role: The Business Analyst reports to the Director of Projects and works closely with the project development team in-house. The incumbent will be responsible for gathering formal requirements from the clients and translating those requirements into clearly defined deliverables for the implementation team.

Your Day with Equisoft:  

• Translate various unstructured requirements into business, functional and non-functional user stories (with clear acceptance criteria)
• Work closely with the business lead, technical lead, subject matter experts from the Client and other analysts to document functional specifications
• Assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings, and articulate them into a viable design
• Keep product documentation up to date at all times and contribute to the design of new roadmap functionalities
• Conceptualize business needs and processes into functional building blocks that fit in the capabilities of our existing software
• Support the development team during the sprint (answer questions, participate in demos, review test cases, etc.)
• Participate in pre-planning sessions with the Business Lead, Technical Lead, Project Manager and Subject matter experts from the Client to define next sprint priorities.
• Create and Refine the needed user stories and acceptance criteria for the sprint and partner with the Functional Architect and Team Lead to confirm logical task breakdown and other details
• Provide pre-sales support on the product from time to time
• Facilitate product demos of completed features and functionality
  
  
  

Requirements:  

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or information Technology or College Diploma
• 7 years of experience in a similar role with 7 years of experience in software development
• Proven experience as an analyst in Agile software development projects, preferably in a technical capacity
• Knowledge of the Life and Health insurance industry
• Knowledge of MS Suites (Excel intermediate-high)
• Familiarity with Gherkin syntax
• Proficient in business analysis techniques, including user story creation, process modeling and requirements elicitation
• Strong communication skills (specifically with clients)
• Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize activities effectively
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions
• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish is required
• Strong documentation skills, with the ability to create clear and concise requirement artifacts
