About the project
The Lake Chad Basin Wetland Conservation Project aims to improve the climate resilience of ecosystems and marginalized communities structurally vulnerable to climate change, particularly women and youth, through nature-based climate solutions in six RAMSAR sites in the Lake Chad Basin in Cameroon, Chad and Niger. This will be achieved through an integrated approach involving the following intermediate outcomes:
- Rehabilitation/restoration of wetland ecosystems to support improved conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in protected areas registered under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands
- Rehabilitation/restoration of agropastoral areas while increasing the adoption and benefits of climate-resilient agropastoral livelihoods within and near target Ramsar sites.
- Strengthening women & youth leadership in environmental peacebuilding in and around target Ramsar sites and in the existing regional stabilization process.
About Gender Model Family (GMF)
The Gender Model Family is an innovative approach to promoting gender equality within families and communities by illustrating equitable practices between men and women. It encourages the sharing of domestic responsibilities, joint decision-making and the fair distribution of resources, while challenging traditional norms. GMF contributes to sustainable community development and supports the project's objectives of gender equity, environmental conservation and peacebuilding.
The project will provide micro-grants to empower women economically, focusing on women-led initiatives in sustainable agriculture, conservation, and livelihood development. Beneficiaries will receive training under the Gender Model Family (GMF) program, fostering balanced gender roles and supportive family structures, with these outcomes captured in the documentary to highlight their impact.

- Capture high-quality images illustrating the project's impact.
