Job description

Overview

Waters Corporation is currently looking for an MS Applications Specialist who will be working as part of an integrated national team. The position requires the candidate to travel to customer sites to provide customer training and applications support for Waters’ leading-edge LC/MS systems. The position requires a strong background in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.

The ideal location for this role is in the Boston area. Surrounding areas such as Washington DC, Princeton NJ, Chicago, IL and Philadelphia, PA would also be considered. This position will required at least 75% travel. The location will be flexible for the ideal candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site customer training on Waters’ LC/MS instrumentation and software (MassLynx, UNIFI, Empower)
  • LC separation, MS application and method development support for customers who have purchased on-site applications assistance
  • Perform training courses on MS instrumentation and software for customers and in-house staff (including engineers and other service support staff) as necessary
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise on Waters MS systems, software products

Qualifications

  • Minimum of BS degree in Chemistry or Life Science-related degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience specializing in liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and data analysis in a laboratory environment highly preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Previous lecturing and/or teaching experience is an advantage
  • Results oriented with a balance of excellent team cooperation
  • Strong networking and communication skills to interact with customers and internal Waters staff
