Product Development Engineer

Job Title: China Product Development Engineer

Department: Engineering Centre of Excellence

Location: China, Home-based

What You’ll Do:

• Scout renewable energy markets to identify the best technologies and products, focusing on PV modules, inverters, and BESS equipment.
• Support and maintain global roadmaps, technical specifications, and data sheets for these technologies.
• Develop strong relationships with suppliers, facilitate pilot testing, and evaluate innovative products.
• Provide engineering support for procurement, quality assurance, and operational needs.
• Monitor market trends and help update the Approved Product List (APL) to optimize cost and performance across the lifecycle.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Experience: Strong background in PV modules, inverters, and BESS equipment design, evaluation, and on-site utility-scale project construction.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in specialized design and modeling software, Excel VBA tools, and QA methodologies (e.g., FMEA).
• Knowledge: Familiarity with international electrical design codes, asset management requirements, and cutting-edge renewable technologies.
• Mindset: A problem-solver with a passion for innovation, technical excellence, and sustainability.

Education & Experience

• Degree or master’s degree. in Electrical Engineering or similar,
• Fluent English spoken and written.
• Fluent Chinese spoken and written.
• Additional languages are a plus.
• Significant amount of professional experience in technical roles in the PV modules, inverters and BESS equipment marketplace or equivalent,
• Experience in using quantitative methods and data analytics tools (python, R, SQL) to investigate field data is a plus
