Directly reporting to the Senior Director, Market Access Diagnostic (DxS), the Manager of Payer Relations and Contracting will be primarily responsible for managing payer account strategy within a specific geographic territory (eastern half of US), focusing on contracting and negotiating reimbursement rates for Hologic Oncology products.
We are seeking a high-performing, proven leader to develop and execute strategies that will expand in-network contracts for both Breast Cancer Index (BCI) and CancerType ID (CTID).
Fundamental responsibilities of this role include:
Lead and support the development and execution of contracting strategies at national / regional payers, LBMs, IDNs, IPAs and state Medicaid plans to ensure favorable reimbursement
Regularly track and monitor progress using project management software
Work closely with the broader Market Access team to develop and communicate strategy, tactics, and payer relationship management
Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to enhance revenue cycle management processes and metrics within assigned territory
Build relationships with key opinion leaders and influential stakeholders at payer organizations and within the Oncology community
Work closely with internal cross-functional teams including Clinical and Medical Affairs, Outcomes Research, Marketing, Billing, Finance, Sales, Legal and Regulatory
Administrative tasks associated with managing a book of business
Ownership mentality of assigned payer accounts for the Oncology Services segment
Ability to work collaboratively across functional areas and develop deep, strategic relationships
Successful candidates will have strong leadership skills and experience in securing payer coverage and negotiating contracts, ideally with a background in the diagnostic industry. Candidates should possess strong communication and organization skills, as well as an ability to manage, track, and coordinate complex, simultaneous initiatives.
Qualifications
5+ years of healthcare experience working for a diagnostic / biotech / medical device company, healthcare consulting firm, or medical society
5+ years of experience working with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers on medical policy and contracting
Strong technical knowledge of payer contracting (negotiations, language review, contract format and structure)
Direct experience with or demonstrated understanding of the health care revenue cycle
Proficiency in handling intricate details related to both quantitative reimbursement and legal language ensuring they meet overall business objectives
Proven track-record of successful negotiations with payers
Strong decision-making skills and ability to take initiative and act independently
Excellent organizational, communication and negotiation skills

Bachelor’s Degree required
The annualized base salary range for this role is $120,100 to $200,200 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
