Maintains awareness of evolving technology standards and compliance mandates and looks to ensure implications to technology delivery are incorporated where appropriate.
Understands where licensed products, open-source components, custom development, or a combination of all will most effectively solve business needs, and shows fluency in all mediums.
Demonstrates the ability to balance authoritative architectural leadership with collaborative, team-driven decision-making, recognizing when a directive approach is necessary to ensure alignment on critical initiatives and when a more inclusive model will yield the best outcomes through collective insight and ownership.
What you'll do...
Collaborate with product team to clarify and refine business needs, ensuring the solution is fit for purpose.
Work with product and engineering peers to fully understand non-functional requirements/quality attributes and creation software designs that apply principles/best practices against them
Collaborate with engineering stakeholders on delivery approaches that balance implementation constraints with ideal design models
Participation in discovery and intake for new initiatives for solution feasibility and implementation guidance / constraints
Develop proof-of-concept solutions and prototypes to validate architectural decisions
Participate in ongoing refinement of patterns and practices for Architecture as part of optimized software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Define and maintain architectural principles, architectural blueprints for common platform capabilities, and best practices that promote security, compliance, and operational excellence across the entire engineering organization.
Offer guidance and support to engineering teams through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions, fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
About you...
8+ years working hand-on in the implementation of moderate-to-large Healthcare software systems
4+ years working in software architecture discipline
Deep knowledge of enterprise system patterns (data exchange, API/integration, service mesh, integration middleware, storage)
Experience with Architecture-as-Code models (Gitbook, Mermaid.js, etc.)
Experience with C4 Modelling
Experience/awareness of industry software architecture patterns/frameworks (TOGAF, ISAQB, ARC42/AIM42, etc.)
Proven experience in designing/developing systems with compliance / regulatory obligations (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC, ISO, FDA, etc.)
Deep familiarity of cloud and on-premise hosting models and associated benefits/constraints and support toolchains
Familiarity with design patterns and architecture models relevant to data exchange (service-oriented architectures, event-driven architectures, data vs. Integration layers, etc.)
Understanding of logging, metrics, and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic Stack) to ensure system reliability and performance.
Proven ability to quickly build proof-of-concept solutions to validate architectural decisions or experiment with emerging technologies.
Experience setting up architecture review processes/guardrails to maintain standards and consistency across multiple teams and projects.
Demonstrated experience guiding and coaching engineering teams, including conducting code reviews and offering technical mentorship.

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $185,000 - $195,000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
