Summary 
The Public Safety Technology Specialist is responsible for assisting the Program/Project Manager in executing large, complex information technology project work, from the planning phase through project close-out. This person will be task with implementing CAD/RMS systems and advising project teams on technical requirements, procedures, and process associated with Public Safety Technology implementations and upgrades. 
 
Although this is a remote position, you will be required to travel to Chicago to go on-site once a month for 3 days.

  • Pay Range: $105,000/yr - $125,000/yr.
  • Base pay may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonuses or commissions.

General Responsibilities 
  • Support the Project Manager in technology implementations, upgrades, and advisory work in all aspects of the project from conception to completion
  • Work with client and technology partners to implement CAD systems
  • System Implementations and upgrades may include configuration workshops, training, requirements gathering, and interviews among other tasks
  • Review the project requirements in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging problems
  • Ensure quality standards and proper compliance to client rules and regulations
  • Develop and implement a transition plan take over from the Senior PM in the future
Requirements 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working within or consulting Public Safety Organizations
  • Proven working experience implementing, configuring, managing, or administrating CAD/RMS systems
  • Intermediate/Advanced Experience with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, SharePoint)
  • Subject Matter Expert in CAD/RMS and other public safety systems
  • Intermediate IT knowledge including networking and virtualization
  • Basic understanding of cloud technology
  • Understanding of all facets of the project development lifecycle
  • Ability to plan and see the big picture
  • Detail-oriented and organized with excellent time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
