We do this by providing an environment that fosters the growth, innovation, collaboration, and delivery excellence needed to achieve successful and lasting transformative IT modernization. With BridgePhase, federal agencies gain a trusted partner dedicated to delivering high-performing solutions that advance the nation's most critical objectives.

We're seeking a LifeRay Platform Implementation Specialist to join our team supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The ideal candidate will have the proven ability to implement, configure and optimize the LifeRay platform to meet diverse requirements around information management, sharing and collaboration, while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and security protocols. This role requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to translate existing functional and technical requirements and capabilities into the LifeRay platform in an optimized fashion. This is a remote position.

In this position, you can expect to:

  • Architect and lead complex Liferay DXP implementations, focusing on enterprise-scale solutions and multi-site deployments
  • Design and implement custom workflows, content structures, and dynamic page templates
  • Lead integration efforts with enterprise systems including collaboration and authentication services
  • Develop customizations using OSGi modules and Service Builder
  • Provide technical oversight for performance optimization, security hardening, and scalability improvements
  • Mentor junior implementation specialists and provide technical leadership to project teams
  • Conduct technical discovery workshops and architect solutions based on client requirements
  • Lead proof-of-concept development for complex technical solutions
  • Review and optimize existing Liferay implementations for performance and best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address program-specific platform needs

As with any technical environment, the exact role responsibilities will evolve with the changing needs of our client. We are looking for versatile candidates who thrive on new challenges and can readily adapt to additional responsibilities beyond those listed above.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Liferay DXP architecture and internals
  • 7+ years of experience implementing enterprise-level content management or digital experience platforms
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Liferay DXP/Portal (versions 6.2 through 7.4)
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale Liferay implementations
  • Deep expertise in supporting technologies including:
  • Java/J2EE enterprise application development
  • OSGi framework and modular development
  • Spring Framework and dependency injection
  • Service Builder and Liferay APIs
  • Complex workflow implementations
  • Authentication and authorization frameworks (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect)
  • Enterprise integration patterns and implementations
  • Performance tuning and optimization
  • DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Proficiency with build tools (Maven, Gradle) and version control systems
  • Strong proficiency in Java development, JVM tuning, web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery), and modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js)
  • Expertise in secure database design, optimization, and performance tuning

While we've outlined our ideal candidate, we recognize that talent comes in many forms. If you don't check every box but possess a strong design aptitude, a passion for creating exceptional user experiences, and a drive to learn and grow, we strongly encourage you to apply. We value designers who demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and a solid foundation in user-centered design principles. If you're excited about the challenge of enhancing digital experiences for government agencies and are willing to dive into new technologies and methodologies, we want to hear from you.
